Kenneth G. Novacich, a dedicated retired Chicago Police Sergeant, was born on August 6, 1949, in Chicago, Illinois. After a lifetime devoted to serving his community, Kenneth passed away on Friday, September 6, 2024, at his home in Hegewisch. He leaves behind his cherished children, Nicholas J. Novacich and Kevin A. Novacich, who were the pride of his life. He is also survived by his beloved siblings, Lydia (late Bill) Pope and John (Holly) Novacich, and many nieces and nephews, all of whom will carry forward his kindness and the values he imparted. Kenneth will be greatly missed by his canine companions, Shadow and Gizmo. Kenneth was preceded in death by his adoring wife, Margaret “Peggy” Novacich (nee Ell), whose love and support were a cornerstone of his life. Her memory remained a source of strength and motivation throughout his life. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Jacob and Erna Novacich, who shaped the man he became. Throughout his career, Kenneth demonstrated unwavering commitment to law enforcement, dedicating 38 years to the Chicago Police Department. His service was marked by integrity, bravery, and a deep-seated desire to protect and serve the citizens of Chicago. Known for his compassion towards those he encountered, Kenneth earned the respect and admiration of both his colleagues and the community he served. Beyond his professional life, Kenneth was an avid gardener who found joy in nurturing his plants and watching them flourish. He cherished collecting baseball cards, a hobby that connected him to the history of the sport and provided countless hours of enjoyment. Kenneth also had a passion for photography, capturing moments and memories that he shared with family and friends. His love for history allowed him to appreciate the past and share stories that inspired those around him. Kenneth also served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. His legacy of kindness, bravery, and love that Kenneth leaves behind will remain in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him. As we mourn his passing, we celebrate a life well-lived, a man who touched so many lives through his dedication to service and his boundless love for his family. Amanda Roeh. We celebrate with love the life of Amanda Roeh who passed away on Saturday, August 31, 2024. She was the cherished daughter of Michelle Douglas and Robert Roeh. Proud and devoted mother of Sydney Tacchia. Loving sister of Renee Bartz and Robert Roeh Jr. Amanda will be remembered with much love by her many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She encouraged at the end that all of our feelings are valid, and that we all love each other and share our thoughts and feelings. Healing is possible. A memorial visitation in celebration of Amanda’s life will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2024, from 2 PM to 7 PM with a Service at 3 PM. Amanda was a dispatcher and 911 operator for the Chicago Police Department. She was deeply loved and will be dearly missed.
