Robert E. Guest, age 81, passed away September 05, 2024. Preceded in death by his parents Harry & Elizabeth Guest, and his sister Patricia (Lorel) Galasinski. Beloved husband of Margaret Guest for 62 years. Loving father of Kevin (Beverly) Guest, Sharon (Mark) Stokes, Brian (Michelle March) Guest, Keith (Noel) Guest. Cherished grandpa of Vicki (James) Davis, Vanessa Stokes, Elizabeth (Cody) Swanigan, Jake (Rebecca) Blaufuss Stokes, Josh Stokes, Jason Stokes, Olivia Guest, Remi Guest, and Koen Guest. Loving great grandpa of Nora, Jude, and Elias. Caring brother of Sharon Guest. Loving uncle to many nieces and nephews. Beloved friend to many. Robert was a member of the Tinley Park Police Department for 32 years. Bob retired and moved to Hamlin Lake in Ludington, Michigan, where he enjoyed the last 20 years of his life with Marge and all of his Ludington family. Bob will always be remembered for videotaping at all family and friend gatherings, for playing his harmonica with the Cats & Jammers at Custer VFW in MI and everywhere he went, especially where children were present, and for his generosity, for he was always buying things in bulk so he could give it away to every person he knew. Bob's generosity is also shown as he donated his body to the Anatomical Gift Association of Illinois for the advancement of medical science. Memorial Gathering, Friday, September 13, 2024, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Vandenberg Funeral Home, 17248 S. Harlem Ave. Tinley Park, IL 60477. Memorial Mass September 14, 2024, at St. George Church 6707 W. 175th St, Tinley Park, IL, 10:00 a.m. mass. Interment will be Private. Mitchell S. Niklewicz, age 82, passed away peacefully on Sept. 5, 2024. Beloved and cherished husband of Sandra S. Niklewicz, nee Lapka. Loving dad of the late John (Paula) and the late David (Tammy). Very proud grandpa (Tampa) to Emily (Brendan), Julia, and Hannah. Dearest brother to his twin, the late Edward, and sisters Lorraine Wilkens, Barbara (Larry) Heinrich and brother-in-law to Carol and Jim Kelly. He will also be remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Alex and Irene, nee Gostkiewicz, and his parents in law, Matt and Florence Lapka. Mitchell was a proud office of the Chicago Police Department's 018 District and a U.S. Army Veteran of the Viet Nam War. Mitch will be remembered for his love of family, watching his three granddaughters grow up, his huge nutcracker collection, the "gift of gab" and being a true friend. So many hearts will be saddened by the loss of this great guy. Thanks for the love over many years. Please omit flowers. The Training and Support Group continues its commitment to providing all Department members (sworn and civilian) with ongoing financial wellness resources. The Chicago Patrolmen’s FCU Financial Planning and Education Center is offering two financial seminars in September 2024 as part of the the Financial Fitness for First Responders monthly programming, including ABCs of Home Buying and Retirement Readiness. Please refer to AMC 313196 for attached flyer with program descriptions, date/times, and registration links. This information can also be found in the Cordico Wellness App under the “My Org” tab. As a reminder, FFFR seminars are free to all Department members and their families on a voluntary, off-duty basis.
