Lawrence J. Tobuch, late of Hegewisch, passed away on September 24, 2024, at the age of 92. Born on March 28, 1932, to Lawrence and Josephine Tobuch, Lawrence lived a life marked by love, dedication and service, leaving behind an enduring legacy that will forever be in the hearts of those who knew him. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Air Force, a service that shaped his character and instilled in him values of honor and commitment. Lawrence served his community with honor and pride as a Chicago police officer, earning the respect of his peers and the gratitude of those he protected. He went on to lead a life filled with purpose, nurturing both his family and friendships throughout the years. Lawrence was the beloved husband of the late Janet M. Tobuch (nee Bean), with whom he shared many cherished years. He was a loving father to Pamela DeCook, Marge (Joe) Jumonville, late Garrett Tobuch, late Jeffrey Tobuch, late Stephen Potts and late Jacob Tobuch, who carried forward the lessons of compassion and strength he imparted. He also leaves behind a legacy as a caring grandfather to Matthew (Paige), Garrett, Trevor, Joey, Andrew, Freddy, Chris, and Tom and proud great grandfather to Max R. Mirabal. Lawrence is remembered as a dear brother to Chester (Judy) Tobuch, Edmund (Brenda) Tobuch and late Leonard Tobuch, and an uncle all whom will miss him dearly. Lawrence J. Tobuch’s enduring spirit and warmth will be profoundly missed, but his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of his beloved family and cherished friends.
