Robert Jay Bronson, born: March 10, 1964, in DeKalb, IL Died: November 2, 2024 in Riverview, FL Robert Jay Bronson, 60, formerly of Waterman, Illinois, passed November 2, 2024, in Riverview, Florida. Born March 10, 1964, to Harry Jr. "Bob" and Janet Bronson. Known also as Butch and Rob, Robert graduated from Waterman High School in 1982, where he played varsity basketball and other sports. He attended Western Illinois University; there he was an active member of the Phi Epsilon Kappa fraternity and in 1988 obtained a master’s degree in law enforcement and justice administration. Robert worked for the Naperville Park Police before relocating to southern Florida working for the Glades County Sheriff's Department and South Bay Florida Public Safety until he joined the Seminole Tribe of Florida Police Force in 2004, initially in south Florida and then re-assignment to the Tampa area. While employed by the Seminole Tribe he became a certified Firearms Instructor. In his later years, Robert enjoyed time with his daughter and grandsons and the company of his dogs, Lucy and Finn. He had an avid interest in photography and relished trips to the Florida coast and overseas. Robert is survived by his daughter, Cassara "Cassie" (Glenn) Bronson-Mcnanna, and grandsons Rhyan, Reid and Remington of Wesley Chapel, Florida; sister Debra, "Debbie" Bronson, of Irving, Texas; niece Jessica Mislevy (Rémi) and grandnephew Luke in Washington, D.C.; niece Meredith (Zachary) Hughes and grandnephews Alexander and Elliot of Severna Park, Maryland; and brother-in-law Robert "Bob" Mislevy of Annapolis, Maryland. He is preceded in death by sister Roberta "Robbie" Mislevy and his parents. Robert will be laid to rest in the North Clinton cemetery in Waterman, Illinois. Lieutenant Michael Patrick O'Grady, Retired C.P.D., age 79, passed away peacefully on November 14, 2024, with his family by his side. Mike was the beloved husband of the late Mary Elizabeth, nee McGrath; loving father of Lt Col Kevin (Colleen) O'Grady, Margaret "Peggy" (John) Chronos, Mary Ellen O'Grady, Matthew (Elizabeth) O'Grady and Kathleen "Katie" (Barry, C.P.D.) Cunningham; cherished grandfather of Garrett, Bridget, Colin, Kevin, Nolan, Patrick, George, Catherine, Michael, Maggie, Matthew, Jr., Tim, Owen, Mary, Sarah and Daniel; dear brother of Martin LTC USA (Carol) O'Grady, Mary Kay (Ron) Romba, Patricia (the late James A.) Murphy and the late Francis O'Grady C.P.D., and he was a fond uncle of many. Mike retired as a Lieutenant with the Chicago Police Department after 35 years of dedicated service to his community. He was an amateur HAM radio operator with the call sign K9OG and had made many friends around the world. He will be dearly missed by his family and all who knew him. Visitation Tuesday, November 19, 2024, from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Cumberland Chapels 8300 W. Lawrence Ave., Norridge. Funeral services begin at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, at the funeral home, and will then proceed to Our Lady, Mother of the Church in Chicago for Mass at 11:00 a.m. The interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines, IL.
