Ozzie J. Moran, 80 of Chicago (Hegewisch), passed away peacefully, Jan. 28, 2025 at Trinity Hospital, Chicago. Beloved husband of the late Janet M. (Hupp) Moran who passed away July 24, 2017; loving father of Tracy (Pete) Munt, Ozzie (Jody) Moran and the late Richard Moran; dear father-in-law of Sue Moran Tomky; cherished grandfather of Pete Munt, Rebecca (Alain) Quijano, Rachael Munt, Jake, Tommy and Luke Moran; adoring great grandpa of Olivia, Lucas, MaryAnna, Maximus, Quinn and Amelia; dearest brother of Nancy (John) Griffin, Carol Hicks and the late JoAnne Kilgore; nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial. Sat., Feb. 15, 2025, 10:00am at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 119th Street and Lincoln Avenue, Whiting, Ind. Visitation at the church on Saturday, 9:00am to time of services. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Baran Funeral Home, 1235-119th Street, Whiting, IN. Expressions of sympathy may be placed on-line at www.baranfh.com. Ozzie (Pacetti) Moran was born on July 1, 1944, son of the late Raymond and Mary (Singers) Moran. He was a lifelong resident of Chicago and was a retired firefighter for the City of Chicago. He was a member of the Chicago Firefighters Union, Local 2, St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Whiting, IN and the Indiana Harbor Yacht Club. He enjoyed boating, golfing and fishing. Devoted to his family, Ozzie will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. Additionally, nearly 43% of college women report encountering violent or abusive behaviors in their relationships. Every February, communities across the nation come together for Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month (TDVAM)—a dedicated time to educate, advocate, and take action to prevent dating abuse. This month-long initiative empowers teens, families, educators, and law enforcement with the knowledge and resources to foster healthy relationships and stop violence before it begins.
