THE FOLLOWING IS A MESSAGE FROM PHIL HASKETT'S DAUGHTER:



Hello, All.  You’ve likely received an email from my brother, Mark about my Dad’s passing.  My big brother is a tough act to follow, but I’ll try. 


Our dad’s mission in life was to bring friendship, camaraderie and information to his fellow CPD officers.  He worked it like a job!  Even when he was in the hospital, he worried about not getting his daily emails out to you all.  And when he wasn’t able to, many of you reached out to me personally to check on him.  For that I am very grateful.  Dad was so proud to be a Marine and one of “Chicago’s Finest”.  I am so proud of his lifetime of service to his country and community, and his lifetime of love to his friends and family.


I know he holds a very dear place in many hearts because of his kind, considerate, and loving actions.  I am also very grateful that Dad was able to spend his final years here in Florida with me and my husband, enjoying the warm weather and beautiful sunrises and sunsets that he took pictures of almost daily.


As Mark stated, we will let you all know when we schedule his memorial service in Chicago.  I look forward to seeing those of you who are able to join us to celebrate the life of this very good man.  


Thank you all for your friendship to our dear dad.  Know that you held a very special place in his heart, and he is at peace, happily dancing again with our mom.  I will miss him so very much.
