INFORMATION ABOUT SCHEDULING IROCC TRAINING

Postby cdillon » Fri Mar 13, 2026 4:20 pm

THE FOLLING IS A MEMBERS INFORMATION ON HIS SCHEDULING IROCC TRAINING:

IROCC used to send out a renewal snail-mail notice to me in January. I did not receive one and did not receive notice in February. So on morning of Feb 27th I phoned Springfield at
217-726-9537
Left a message about missing renewal notice;
Left my name, IROCC ID number, and phone number.

An hour later the call back told me a new system was up but not properly working. I was told an email would be sent to fill out my correct information (the A B form) and attestation.
The same day the email LINK came and asked for upload of photo copies as below:
"Before you begin, you will need the following items to complete the renewal application:

A digital copy of your Illinois Firearm Owners Identification (FOID) card to upload
A digital copy of your law enforcement department/agency ID card (front and back) to upload
A credit card or banking information for the online payment process
Once you've gathered the necessary information and you're ready to submit your renewal application,"

During the phone call I was told that the credit card input may not work the first time, and it didn't the second time either. So I opted for bank payment. And after giving permission to a "STRIPES" app the application was sent away for approval.

By 2nd March I still did not see the funds taken from my checking and emailed the LINK account (info@irocc.org) back to ask what happened. Within an hour I got a reply that said "stand by it's working through the new system".

By the 3rd of March payment was acknowledged by email (plus a $3 handling fee).

On the 4th of March an email came from:

Jennette S. Jones-Nall

Program Coordinator

IROCC

which stated I was being processed and would receive an email soon to complete the steps. And so on the 12th March the email came to request shoot scheduling. And confirmation was emailed immediately.

13 days start to finish with a couple of follow up emails to help keep everything on track. As soon as payment was completed I removed STRIPES from my checking account access on the bank app. FOP was notified on the 27th of Feb at the start of this issue and on 12 Mar after scheduling was completed. This entire process was disclosed. Good luck to all our retired brothers and sisters. Ron.
