Geraldine "Geri" Sampey, 83, retired orthopedic nurse and hospital administrator. Geri's personal and professional lives were marked by the same enduring qualities: strength, patience, grace, integrity, and unconditional love. Nothing was more important to Geri than her family. She attended every event possible and was so proud of the accomplishments of all of her grandchildren. Beloved Wife of Jack Sampey (CFD). Devoted mother of Debra (Tim) Cronister, John (late Sandra), Brian, Kevin (Sheri), Laurie (Bill) Ferraris. Daughter of the late Natalie and Stanley Plis. Loving Mimi to Catherine, Charlotte, Samuel, Jack, Nicholas, Stephanie, Lileana, Sophia, William, Alexa, Nicolette, and AJ. Fond Aunt to many nieces and nephews. Visitation Tuesday, March 7, 2023 from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Cumberland Chapels 8300 W. Lawrence Ave. Norridge. Funeral services start Wednesday, March 8 2023 at 10:00 at the funeral home and will then proceed to Immaculate Conception Church (Talcott & Harlem) for Mass at 11:00 am. Probationary Police Officer Daniel J. Doffyn Star #14030 All radio zones will observe a 30 second period of radio silence 08 March 2023 at 1200 hours. This is in honor of Probationary Police Officer Daniel J. Doffyn, #14030, assigned to Unit 044-Education and Training Division, who was shot and killed in the line-of-duty on 08 March 1995 at 1521 hours in the 015th District.
