Passing of Wife of Our Chaplain Pastor Paul Pfeffer!

Karen J. Pfeffer, (nee, McKinon); beloved wife of Pastor Paul D. Pfeffer; loving mother of Andrew and Mark Pfeffer; devoted "Oma" of Charlotte and Brentley; dear sister of the late David; fond sister-in-law of Ruth (Dr. Eric) Ganes and the late Katherine Waterman; also cherished aunt, cousin and friend of many. Karen was a dedicated elementary education teacher. She taught many students in many states, including Illinois, Wisconsin, Iowa and Montana. Most recently she taught at Bethesda Lutheran School retiring after 20 years of service. Karen was a faithful member of many parishes. She was especially active and was a proud choir member at the former Faith Lutheran (Chicago) and Grace Evangelical Lutheran (Mt. Prospect) Churches. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 28, 2023 at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1624 E. Euclid Ave., Mt. Prospect, IL 60056, from 4:00 p.m.- 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 29th at the church, at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place privately at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery at a later date. The family has requested in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Grace Lutheran Church Endowment Fund, 1624 E. Euclid Ave., Mt. Prospect, IL 60056, in Karen's memory. Retired PO Steve Bezenyei from 018 is seriously ill and has entered hospice at Lutheran General Hospital. Prayers are appreciated.
