Andrew Price.jpg

“Mahalo" - Drew Price, 39, - Husband, Son, Brother, Friend, Firefighter. “Mahalo!” He’d say- as he gave the hang-loose hand symbol and a smirk. Always expressing gratitude was his way of life. Andrew Benjamin Price, “Drew,” was born in Fort Worth, Texas on January 7th, 1984, and passed away in the line of duty serving the Chicago Fire Department on November 13th, 2023 at the age of 39. Born to Rochelle and Grant Price, Drew was one of five children. Drew and his siblings Courtney, Carissa, Jordan and Natalie were a tight-knit crew and were dubbed “The Fabulous Five” by friends and family. He is survived by his loving wife, Lara Price, and his in-laws Karen and Tim Radez, Vanessa and Greg Mohr, Megan Price, Justin Reynolds and Justin Weber. He was an uncle to his six nieces and nephews, who he adored. Drew fulfilled his childhood dream when he graduated from the Chicago Fire Academy in 2009, giving 14 years of dedication and service to the Chicago Fire Department. He truly treasured being a fireman and instructed new cadets at the academy. He was proud to represent the department and was a player of the Chicago Blaze football team. Drew proudly drove truck 44 and rode alongside engine 55. He loved his company like family and was honored to work beside them serving and protecting his community. Drew met his wife Lara in 2016. Inseparable from the start, they wed in July of 2020. Drew was the best dog dad to their dogs Kai and Riley, and was extremely dedicated to his family of four - they were his world. Drew was the glue that held everyone together. He was the person who always reached out. Selfless with a heart of gold, he made sure his loved ones knew that they were at the top of his mind. The impact Drew made on his family and friends was inspirationally immense and his presence will be greatly missed. A solo trip to Hawaii shaped Drew's life and the way in which we remember him today. He adopted the saying “Mahalo” which the locals there use to express gratitude. Today, we express our own gratitude for having known Drew. He touched the lives of so many, and reminds us to love harder, be kinder, and search for joy in every moment. Mahalo, Drew, we love you. A memorial visitation for Andrew will be held Monday, November 20, 2023, from 10:00 AM until the time of memorial service at 12:00 PM at Navy Pier, 600 E. Grand Avenue, Chicago, IL 60611. Services will be livestreamed. Please use this link to access the services. Link will go live 15 minutes prior to service start. https://www.asimplestreaming.com/abprice/ Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.DrakeandSonFuneralHome.com for the Price family.
