Leonard J. Barbarone, age 80, at rest April 13, 2024. Leonard was a decorated Vietnam Veteran in the United States Army and was a Retired Chicago Police Officer. Beloved husband of Janet (nee Nehls). Loving father of Anna (Doug) Walton, Keri (Steve) Mayer, Deanna Grabowski, Anthony (Deanna) Serio and Michael ( Lori) Serio. Loving son of the late Leo and the late Genevieve Barbarone. Papa of 12 grandchildren and great Papa of 5 great grandchildren Dear brother of Darlene (Jack) Hilton and the late Peter (Nancy) Barbarone. Fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. Visitation for Leonard will take place on Wednesday April 17, 2024 from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Cumberland Chapels 8300 W. Lawrence Ave. Norridge, Il. Funeral Thursday, beginning at the funeral home at 9:00 am and then proceed to St. Paul of the Cross Church in Park Ridge for 10:00 am Mass. John W. Zuck, Sr. age 90, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at Trustwell Living in Joliet. He was born December 23, 1933, in Ridgway, IL, to the late William and Julia (Keane) Zuck. On November 14, 1959, he married Dorothy L. (Grimes) Zuck in Joliet, IL. and they two enjoyed 64 years of marriage until her passing January 6, 2024. John was a veteran of the United States Army and a graduate of Joliet Junior College. He worked as an security officer with the Illinois Department of Corrections, retiring with the rank of Captain. John is survived by his son, John W. (Therese) Zuck, Jr.; and his grandsons, Justin and Christopher Zuck. He is preceded by his beloved wife; his parents; and two sisters. As it was John’s final wish, cremation rites have been accorded. His urn will be laid to rest with his wife in her childhood home of Eldorado, IL. Fred C. Dames Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Recently retired P.O. Tim Eades unit 050 (old partner) Had complete liver failure this week. He was rushed to UIC ICU and placed on an expedited liver transplant list. Latest update, on Sunday, he was a potential early Monday surgery slot. I believe transplants are very dynamic situations. Fingers crossed. (Prayers for a good outcome!)

Windy City Coppers! Tampa Bay last Wednesday of the month!

Calling all coppers. Please join the newly formed group Windy City Coppers located in the greater Tampa Bay Area. We meet for breakfast every last Wednesday of the month. We encourage any and all current or retired CPD to attend as we attempt to solve all the world’s problems one breakfast at a time.
