George Joseph Durfor, 72, of Bolingbrook, Illinois passed away Sunday May 12, 2024. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to the late George and Mary Durfor, he will be deeply missed. George is survived by his children: George Alan (Tina) Durfor, Sara (Ryan) Migawa, and Joseph and Jonathan Durfor; his grandchildren: Vincenzo Manzella, Sophia Manzella, Daniel Migawa and Elizabeth Migawa. George spent most of his youth living in New Jersey with his sisters Joan (deceased) Georgette and Anne. He left home at 18 to fight for his country. He spent 10 years in the Navy primarily on the USS Paul, a destroyer where he fought in Vietnam. When on a brief stay at Great Lakes he met his first wife Debbie. They welcomed their first child George while he was stationed in Jacksonville, Florida in February of 1974. He retired from the Navy in 1979, ironically from Great Lakes and stayed in Illinois. In 1981 he joined the Hinsdale Police Department and also welcomed his second child, Sara. In June of 1988 he remarried Lynne. Shortly later, he retired from the police force after 10+ years of service, due to suffering a second heart attack on the job. He welcomed his third child, Joseph, in April of 1992. He worked in Security in the 90's and 2000's, then welcomed his fourth and final child, Jonathan, in April of 1996. In his final years he enjoyed spending time with his adult children and his grandchildren watching Bears games, telling bad jokes, sending numerous texts and talking politics! He will be deeply missed. A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 16th, 2024 from 4:00-9:00 PM at Geils Funeral Home, 180 South York Road, Bensenville, IL 60106. Interment will take place the following day on Friday at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL at 2:30pm. Please contact Geils Funeral Home at (630) 766-3232 with any questions.

Joseph Gerard Halerz! We are saddened to announce the passing of Joseph Gerard Halerz, age 63 on Tuesday, May 7, 2024. He was the beloved brother of Barbara (Chuck) Rummel and John Retired C.P.D. (Marcia) Halerz. Dear uncle of Chuck (Amanda)Rummel, John (Alexandra) Halerz and Sarah (Jason) Rafa. Loved Great Uncle to Abigail, Katherine and Kieran Rummel and Harrison and Everett Rafa and Penelope Griffin Halerz. Dear Nephew of Virginia Holy. He was preceded in death by his parents Adam S. and Dorothy B., nee Leja Halerz and many aunts and uncles. Joseph will be missed by his longtime friend, Jane Kerr, his many cousins, and his many caring friends at UCP/Seguin. The visitation is Thursday from 4 PM to 8 PM at Foran Funeral Home, 7300 W. Archer Ave. (55th street just west of Harlem). Visitation on Friday at the funeral home from 8:30 AM until time of Prayers at 9:30 AM. We will go in procession from the funeral home to St. Faustina Kowalska Parish for a 10 AM mass. Joseph will be laid to rest next to his parents at Resurrection Cemetery.
