Passed away 10 June 2024 RETIRED POLICE OFFICER STEVEN WOODS, formerly assigned to District 001, father of Police Officer David Magana assigned to District 018.

On 09 June 2024, the above officers apprehended an offender they learned grabbed and dragged a 16-year-old girl to a secluded part of an alley, pushed her up against a garbage can and sexually assaulted her. The above officers set up surveillance and were able to take the offender into custody. During the course of the arrest, it was observed that the offender’s vehicle was the same vehicle that was used in a previous similar documented case. Because of the diligence and dedication to duty of the officers and detectives involved, a violent sexual predator was charged with Aggravated Criminal Sexual Assault, Aggravated Kidnapping and Unlawful Restraint. Thanks for the job well done!
