Vito VeSota.jpeg

Vito VeSota, 72, son of the late Vito V VeSota Sr and Lucille (Viliunas) VeSota Retired officer, CPD. Beloved husband of Barbara (nee Petritis), proud father of Jennifer (Ed) Leahy, and Julie VeSota, loving Papa of Noah Leahy, supportive brother of Lucille, brother-in-law, nephew, cousin, neighbor, and friend. In his early years, Vito participated in a variety of activities, including traditional Lithuanian dance and playing in the Saint Rita band, leading him to an epic trip to the Ice Bowl. As a rare walk on, Vito got to enjoy some time playing defense at the minor league level with the local football team. Vito proudly served the city he loved for 31 years, enjoyed spending time hunting with his life-long buddies, and celebrated the holidays with many Lithuanian traditions. He had a huge love of sports, cheering for the Blackhawks and White Sox, and never giving up on his Chicago Bears. Football was life. We will miss him tremendously. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in his name to CurePSP (https://www.psp.org/) to help further research treatments & cures for this rare disease, and to the Chicago Police Memorial Foundation (Chicago Police Memorial Foundation | The Chicago Police Memorial Foundation is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to honoring the lives of our fallen heroes. The Foundation provides support and assistance to the families of Chicago police officers) Visitation Wednesday 3:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Thursday 10:15 a.m. from the Funeral Home to St. Christina Church for an 11:30 a.m. Mass. Interment St. Casimir Lithuanian Cemetery.
