Dennis J. Kasprzyk, known as “da Chief,” passed away on August 4th, 2024, leaving a legacy of service and dedication. Devoted husband of the late Beverly Ann (nee Maciorowski) and the late Gretina (nee Lienemann). Loving Father of Mark (Peg) Kasprzyk and Genevieve (Amy) Spier, Brother of Cecelia (the late Ron) Dibbern and the late Matthew (Marypat) Kasprzyk. Proud Grandfather to Colin, Katie, and Patrick Kasprzyk, and Sebastian and Luca Levy. Loving Dog Dad to Jake, Clancy, and his beloved Henry. A US Navy Veteran, Dennis served as a helicopter electronics technician. He dedicated 40 years to the City and People of Chicago as a CFD Battalion Chief. An Avid collector of Lionel Trains and outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, Dennis was also the family genealogist and gardener who loved driving through the United States and Canada. Dennis was a devout Catholic and proud member of the Knights of Columbus, serving as past Grand Knight. He graduated from St. John Bertram Elementary and DePaul University Academy and earned his Fire Services Degree from City Colleges of Chicago. Memorial Visitation, Friday, August 9, 2024, 4:00PM to 8:00PM at Montclair – Lucania Funeral Home, 6901 W. Belmont Avenue, Chicago, Illinois. Funeral Mass Saturday, August 10, at 10am at Saint Ferdinand Catholic Church, 5900 W. Barry Avenue, Chicago, Illinois. Entombment will follow at Saint Adalbert Cemetery, Niles, Illinois. Ronald S. Kovacs, December 19, 1943 to August 5, 2024. Loving father of Kathy (Rob) Hudgins, Kim (Brian) Quaid, Kelly (Ted) Kramer, and Ronnie (Denise) Kovacs. Proud Papa to Robby (Emily) Hudgins, and Holly Hudgins. Mia, Liz, Molly, and Kate Quaid. Matt, Nate, Luke, and Lucy Kramer. Maeve, Jack, Noelle, and Mikey Kovacs. Great Papa to Elaya Hudgins. Loving companion and best friend to Cheryl Orr. Dear brother of Gerry Gabouer, Richard, Robert, Randy and the late Steven Kovacs. Cherished uncle to many nieces and nephews. Ron proudly served in the U.S. Air Force from which he was honorably discharged. After 37 years he retired from the City of Chicago Fire Department. Following retirement, he was fortunate enough to spend much of his time in Huntington Beach, CA and traveling with family and friends. Police Officer Michael P. Gordon Star #18751 Today, 08 August 2024 1000 hours Chicago Police Education and Training Center 1300 W. Jackson On Thursday, August 08, 2024, at 1000 hours, the Training and Support Group will host a memorial flag-raising ceremony for the 20th Anniversary of Police Officer Michael P. Gordon, who was killed in the line of duty on August 08, 2004, when an unlicensed intoxicated driver struck his patrol vehicle. The dedication will take place at the Chicago Police Education and Training Center located at 1300 W. Jackson. Officer Michael Patrick Gordon, Star #18751, was a one-year, nine-month, eleven-day veteran of the Chicago Police Department, aged 30 years, and assigned to the 11th District at the time of his death. All members are encouraged to attend this ceremony. Limited parking will be available for attending members in the Academy’s west lot - entrance on Loomis. Dress is the uniform of the day. WE WILL NEVER FORGET!
