Katharine Crane Byrne, 66, passed away on August 8, 2024. The loving mother of William Byrne Vogt. Dear daughter of the late Jane (late Mayor of Chicago) and Lt. William Byrne. Stepdaughter of the late Jay McMullen. She will be deeply missed by countless friends and family. Visitation Tuesday, August 13th from 10 AM until the time of Mass at 11 AM at St. Vincent DePaul 1010 W. Webster Ave., Chicago, IL 60614. Friends and family are invited to meet at 1pm for interment at Calvary Cemetery, 301 Chicago Ave, Evanston, IL 60202. Lawrence “Larry” J. Dunn, 74, Ret CPD Auto Theft Detective, Post-retirement Neighborhood Realtor; Beloved husband of Maureen “Reenie”, nee Brown; Devoted father of Julie (Brian) Somers, Maureen (the late Nick) Burriesci and Lawrence J. Jr. (Kate) Dunn; Proud grandfather of Joseph (Marieta), Jonathan, and Benjamin Somers, Nicholas, Claire and Madeline Burriesci, Nora and Avery Dunn; Great-grandfather of Scarlett Somers; Loving son of the late Jack and Harriet (nee Malloy) Dunn; Dearest brother of Terry (Marlene) and the late John Dunn; also survived by many wonderful nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends. Eugene Joseph Jankowski, age 97, of Chicago, Illinois, passed away on Wednesday, August 7, 2024. He was born 4/13/1927 on the South side of Chicago. Eugene graduated from Bowen High School and was enrolled in ROTC throughout his time there. He volunteered to serve his country in the Marines during WWII. On May 26, 1951 he married Lillian Dolores Polit and shared a beautiful marriage of 70 years together. Eugene worked for the Chicago Fire Department first as a fireman and then later as an engineer from 1950-1989. He had a passion for working on his house; gardening; reading; politics; WW2 history. He was the loving father to his daughters Janice Muzynski (Dr. Bernard) and Diane Misch MD; beloved grandfather to Cheryl (Joseph) Sorce, Lauren (Brian) Harris, and Jonathan Misch MD. Loving Great-Grandfather to Joseph, Jake, Alyssa, Gunner, Madelyn, and Juliana; beloved brother to Ronald (Susan) Jankowski. A visitation for Eugene will be held Friday, August 16, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at St. Dennis Parish, 8301 S St Louis Ave, Chicago, IL 60652 followed by a funeral mass at 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Anthony Vincent (Tony) Liace, 72 passed away peacefully on August 3, 2024. He was born in Chicago, IL on July 11, 1952 to Rocco and Angeline (nee Vincenzo) Liace. Tony received a master's degree from Lewis University. He was currently serving as Director of Security for the Chicago Park District. He retired as Lieutenant in 2010 after 33 years with the Chicago Police Department. Tony is preceded in death by his mother, Angeline and father, Rocco Liace. Tony leaves behind many loved people; his wife Jo Anna "Jo-Jo" Liace (nee Santiago), brother Rocco (Julie) Liace, sons Rocco Liace and Anthony (Margaret) Liace, grandchildren Edward, William, and Alexandra Liace, special grandparent to Heather (Anders) Edstrom and Mary (Montana) Ferguson. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Private services were held in his honor.

LeRoy Joseph Wisniewski, 89, of Schaumburg, IL passed away surrounded by his family on August 9, 2024. He was born on July 6, 1935 to his parents Joseph and Ann Wisniewski in Chicago, IL. LeRoy is a United States Navy Veteran, a proud retired Chicago Police Officer, and an avid Chicago Sports Fan. LeRoy is the beloved father of JoAnne (Leonard) D’Avanzo and LeRoy P. (Jacqueline Bevan) Wisniewski; cherished grandpa of Peter and Anthony D’Avanzo, Benjamin (Jennie) Wright, Kevin Wright, Katie (Prakash) Nigam, Elizabeth Wright and Joseph Wright; and a great-grandpa of Gavin, Callum, and Jocelyn. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 57 years Patricia; his children Philip and Suzanne (Steve) Wright; brother Ronald (Annette) Wisniewski; and his parents Joseph and Ann. The family would like to thank Prescilla for taking such good care of LeRoy during these last few months. A visitation will be held on Friday, August 16, 2024 from 9:00 am until time of Funeral Mass 10:00 am at St. Gregory of Nyssa Parish (Formerly St. Marcelline Catholic Parish), 822 Springinsguth Rd, Schaumburg, IL 60193.
