Michael William Coyne, age 82, of Oak Forest, IL passed away on Monday, May 27, 2024. Born February 14, 1942, he was the beloved son of Bill and Agnes Coyne. Michael was the devoted husband of the late Lynne D. Coyne (née Dolan), with whom he shared 63 wonderful years. He was a loving father to Cathleen (Steve) Hofmann, Michael (Jane) Coyne, Caryn (Dan) Skiles, and Patrick (Linda) Coyne. He also took great joy in being a cherished grandfather to Brian, John, Danny, Luke, Anne, Conor, Elisabeth, Callahan (Andrea), Aidan, William, and Genevieve. Michael was a fond brother to the late W. Patrick Coyne, Daniel Coyne (Jayne), Colleen Coyne Burnette (Gary), and Kevin Coyne (Doris). He is also remembered by his adored nieces and nephews, and godchildren. Michael retired as an engineer with the Chicago Fire Department and had a distinguished career with the Hershey Chocolate Company, where he worked for over 25 years. Together with his wife Lynne, he co-founded several successful businesses, including Municipal Equipment Co. and Sail4Less Travel Agency. An entrepreneur and avid traveler, Micheal had boundless energy and many treasured friends. His greatest joys were traveling with his wife and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Memorial Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 24th, from 9:30 am until time of Mass 11:00 a.m., at St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Church, 306 W. Fourth, Hinsdale, IL 60521. Sgt. Kenneth J. Restis C.P.D. retired, age 81, passed away unexpectedly on August 17, 2024. Kenneth was the beloved husband of Betty, nee Nelson, for 57 wonderful years; loving father of Laura A. C.P.D. Ret. (Lt. Darren C.P.D. Ret.) Easterday; dearest son of the late Marie and Frank Restis; cherished papa of Ryan M. Kirch, Hunter (Clint) and Morgan Easterday; dear brother of Frances (the late Ted) Nixon, Leonard (Elaine) Restis, and brother in-law of the late Richard (the late Marge) Nelson; fond uncle of many. Ken retired as a Sergeant with the Chicago Police Department after 32 years of service from 1964 to 1996.
