Robert “Bob” Gniot, CPD retired, of Norwood Park. Endearing brother of Thomas (Nancy Siedlecki) Gniot and Donna (Andre) Flouret. Dear uncle of Brooke Flouret. Bob was a Chicago Police Officer, serving for 31 years before retiring in 2021. Before and after retirement Bob was an avid golfer and runner. He also enjoyed coaching football at St. Mary of the Woods for a number of seasons. Memorial visitation Monday August 26th 3-8 pm with a service at 7 pm. Interment Private. Donald J. Schoenecker, age 74, passed away Sunday, August 18, 2024, surrounded by his family. U.S. Army Veteran. Born June 14, 1950 to the late Marian and the late Joseph, he was the beloved husband of the late Joyce (nee Ganka); loving father of Jason (Jessica) (ret. C.P.D), Jeremy (Julie), and the late Eric; cherished grandfather of Nathan, Connor, Carsen, Hunter, Caden and Kya; dear brother of Marilyn (Mel) Davis, the late Jeanine (Bob) Warkenthien; and Jim (Ginny); fond uncle and cousin of many. Donald was a lifelong resident of Chicago, and a long-time parishioner of St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Visitation Friday, August 23, 2024 from 4 p.m. - 9 p.m at Muzyka & Son Funeral Home, 5776 W. Lawrence Ave. Lying-in-state Saturday, August 24, 2024 9:30 a.m at St. Robert Bellarmine Church, 4646 N. SPECIAL NOTICE!

Eleven (11) approved rest stations have been established for the Democratic National Convention (DNC) to provide support for officers in the field while ensuring they have access to food, water, snacks, restrooms, and seating areas for breaks. These rest stations will be continuously stocked with refreshments throughout the DNC’s operational period. Each station will be staffed by two (2) Police Officers and up to two (2) CERT volunteers, along with peer support members and clinicians to provide additional assistance resources. Additionally, the First Net Wellness Tent is located at Guaranteed Rate (35th & State St).
