Dennis Neil Dykema. In Loving Memory of Dennis Neil Dykema, (1948 – 2024). It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dennis Neil Dykema, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and retired police officer. Dennis was born on April 3, 1948, in Chicago, Illinois and passed away peacefully on September 26, 2024, at the age of 76. Dennis was married to his loving wife, Sharon Dykema, for 47 years before her passing, with whom he raised five children, Robert, Michael, James, Alan, and Beth. Dennis proudly served his community as a Chicago police officer for 32 years, dedicating his life to the protection and well-being of others. He was a man of integrity, courage, and compassion, earning the respect of his colleagues and the admiration of those he served. Loving father of Bob (Jackie), Mike (Stacy), Jay (Ashley), Al (Kim), and Beth (John). Devoted Papa of Jamie, Michael, Josh, Jake, Alyssa, Matt, Kate, Riley, Jack, Kyle and Kailey. Beloved Great Grandfather of Elizabeth, Charlie, Alexandria, Sueanne, Amelia, Sammy, Addie, Logan, C.J., Julian, Layla, Emmett, Reid, Ashton, Lynnx, Braxton, Jadon and Jolyn. He will be deeply missed by his extended family, friends, and all who knew him. Though he may no longer walk beside us, Dennis’ legacy of service, love, and dedication will live on in the hearts of those he touched. A private service to honor Dennis will be held on October 1, 2024 at Fairmount Willow Hills Memorial Park, Willow Springs, IL.

INTERNATIONAL POLICE ASSOCIATION - REGION 56 2024 OKTOBERFEST EVENT!

WHEN: October 5, 2024 (Saturday) TIME: 12:00 pm - 5:00 pm. LOCATION: Heidelberg Park, 700 W. Lexington Blvd, Glendale, WI. This year we will have our event at one of the best Oktoberfest events that Wisconsin has to offer! The event will be at the Bavarian Bierhaus Oktoberfest located in Glendale (on the north side of Milwaukee). The event has a variety of food options, live music, German vendors, and much more. Admission is free on Sunday, and we will have someone arrive early and try to hold several tables on the grounds to allow members a meeting point to start the afternoon! Several hotels are available in the area for those coming from out of town. Admission fee is $10.00 per person or $5.00 off admission with the Bavarian Bierhaus Mobile App! If you plan to attend, please RSVP by September 20th so we can try to reserve an appropriate number of tables!
