Patrick Joseph Rowan, 77, of Chicago, passed away peacefully on October 15, 2024. Born on April 11, 1947 in Carrigaholt County Clare Ireland, he immigrated to the United States as a young boy to be united with his parents. Patrick was the eldest son of the late Michael and Julia Rowan. He was the big brother to Barbara, Mary, Tom, Jim and Cathy. He graduated from St. Benedict High School and proudly served as a patrolman in the Chicago Police Department in the 1960’s and was at Lincoln Park during the 1968 Democratic Convention. He left the Chicago Police Department in the early 1970’s to become an agent for Allstate insurance, but his first love was the Chicago Police Department. Patrick is survived by his children, Lesley Rowan and Michael (Susan) Rowan. He was a proud grandfather to three grandchildren: Vivienne; Quinlan and Madeline. Patrick had the “gift of gab” and would capture the attention of anyone in the room, especially if it was related to the Chicago Police Department or an old Irish tune. It is a blessing Patrick is not suffering anymore.
