Lawrence Charles Augustine (Retired CPD Sgt.), 77, of Park Ridge, IL, passed away peacefully on October 18th, with his loving family by his side. Larry was the loving husband of Linda Augustine (nee Dryja) for 54 years. He was the cherished father of Brian (Jill) Augustine, Scott Augustine, and Amanda (Marc) Vanek (both CPD) Devoted grandfather to Jack and Sophia, Olivia and Cameron, Maya and Sara. Additional survivors include his brothers, Ronald Augustine, Wayne (Imelda) Augustine, Curt (Jan) Augustine, and MANY nieces and nephews who were quite fond of their uncle. Larry loved golf, music, crossword puzzles, watching Jeopardy and playing Scrabble with his wife Linda, soaking up the Florida sun, memorable family vacations, and an occasional quality cigar. A true and loyal friend to many, Larry left a lasting and positive impact on all who met him. A loving husband to his wife and a strong, dedicated father to his children. Terrance R. Stefanski, United States Army Veteran, age 74 passed away on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, He was born on July 12, 1950 in Chicago, IL. Loving husband of Julie, loving father of Joseph (Lynn), David, and Kenneth (Heather). Proud grandfather of Lucia, Clara, Calvin and Tristan. Loving brother to Darla (Bob) Lew. Terrance was preceded in death by his brother Richard (Cyndy). Terry loved spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed running, fishing and hunting. Terry was a City of Chicago Police Officer and a CPA (certified public accountant). Terry worked as an Executive Director of the Municipal Pension Fund. Visitation for Terry will be on Friday, October 25, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Ridge Funeral Home, 6620 West Archer Avenue, Chicago, Illinois 60638. Veterans' event at the Academy on 08 Nov. 24 from 1400-1630 hours. At 1500, we will start a short ceremony for Veterans Day and the USMC Birthday. Said event will be attended by CPD recruits in the Academy (who are Veterans) and other Veterans. Our goal is to have all of our partners be able to showcase their services to recruits (especially Veterans) and Veterans who will be in attendance. We will cater simple food and have a cake cutting ceremony. After this, we'll offer some more time for Q&As with our wellness partners and we will break by 1630 hours.

November 8th CPMCL Birthday/Veterans Ceremony and Wellness Day, CPD Academy 1300 W Jackson, 1500 hours: We are back in the Academy and our wellness partners will be joining us. We’ll have Road Home, Stella, EAP, Light the Line, FOP, Police Chaplains, Police Memorial Foundation, PAPA, Emerald Society and more. Our wellness partners will set up at 1400 hours. We will start our ceremony at 1500 hours. We will be celebrating all Veterans, highlighting their service, showing support entities in place, and enjoying great camaraderie. After the ceremony, we will board buses for the VFW at 3200 S. May followed by the American Legion at 1956 W 35th. We will be presenting our two high school scholarships of $5000 each. One scholarship will be for CPD/CPMCL members and the other will be for 1ST. Responders/CPMCL. Applications will be accepted until October 31st. Interested persons, please submit a brief, one page resume detailing the parent(s) service and the applicant’s background. Email applications to our CPMCL email address.
