There will be a funeral mass for Retired CPD Michael Plovanich, on May 17th. at 10:00 AM, at St James Catholic Church, Arlington Hts. The church is located at 831 N Arlington Hts. Rd. There will only be a funeral mass with nothing following. Please keep Mike’s family in your thoughts and prayers.

May 16, 0600 hours, Vets 1st 20K, Tattler American Legion 4355 N Western: Come out and join us for a short 20k march to raise money for mental health. We'll board buses at the Tattle Post at 0630 and drive down to 31st/Lake Shore Dr. We'll hold a short ceremony then march back through a course where 11 of 13 miles are along the lake. The cost is $80. We’re strongly seeking sponsors so we can ensure that every marcher’s donations go straight to mental health. Marchers wanted!

The Professional Counseling Division/ EAP would like to remind all department members about the Family Member Suicide Support Group, which will meet on Tuesday, 13 May 2025, at 6:00 p.m. (1800 hrs). The meeting will take place at the EAP South Office, located at 11540 S. Western Ave., Chicago, IL 60643, Phone: (312) 742 0222. This support group meets on the second Tuesday of every month and is open to the family members of department personnel who are seeking support and resources. If you are interested in joining or would like more information, please call (312) 743-0378 and ask for Assistant Director Kathleen O’Neill to complete the screening process for participation.
