Robert Carl Biziarek, age 78, of LaGrange, passed away on May 9th, 2025 at Hinsdale Hospital. He was born in Chicago, IL on August 27, 1946. Beloved husband of the late Cynthia A. Biziarek for over 54 years. Loving father of Robert G. (Stephanie) Biziarek. Dear brother of William (Lisa) Biziarek, Jerry (Emmy) Biziarek, and the late Ronald Biziarek. Proud "Baba" of Sebastian and William Biziarek. Robert was preceded in death by his parents Harold and Mildred Biziarek. Robert was a Vietnam War Veteran and Purple Heart recipient. He was honorably discharged from the United States Army. Robert was a Sergeant for the Cicero Police Department. Robert was a New York Yankees and Chicago Bears fan. He liked to fish and also enjoyed watching his grandchildren play Hockey and Baseball. A visitation will be held on Tuesday May 13, 2024 from 9:30am to 11:30am at Adolf & Powell Funeral Home, 7000 S Madison St, Willowbrook, IL.60527. To send flowers

William Joseph Kovacs, 76, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Saturday, May 3rd, 2025. He was born on February 4th, 1949, in Chicago, IL. He was the son of Helen and Paul Kovacs and youngest sibling to Paul, Mary, Ellen, and Phyllis Kovacs. William was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was a great friend and favorite Uncle to many. He proudly served for the Chicago Police Department and U.S. Army Reserves. He is survived by his wife Catherine (nee Regan) Kovacs, children Aimee Kovacs Rabe, William Kovacs, and Christine Kovacs Lagattuta as well as his four grandchildren Quentin Rabe, Ava Kovacs, Joseph Lagattuta, and James Lagattuta. He will be remembered with love. A memorial visitation will be held at St. Emily Church, 1400 E. Sharon D. Tyler, 72, passed away on April 19, 2025. She was born on December 23, 1952, in Chicago, Illinois. Sharon was a loving mother of Shanita Tyler; cherished grandmother of Serena Jackson Jajuan Collier); treasured sister of Leora Jean Matthews, Torrence Matthews and Patrice Matthews. She was a graduate of Mundelein College and then went to become a Chicago Police Officer. She received multiple special service awards for work With the Chicago Police Department, recognition for special arrests; she was also a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. She will be best remembered for her beauty, strong will, creativity, many opinions, intelligence and stubbornness. Sharon lived an exciting life filled with variety and adventures that matched perfectly with her one-of-a-kind personality. Memorial contributions in Sharon’s name will be appreciated to the Sickle Cell Disease Association of Illinois. A memorial for Sharon will be held at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 7750 W. From the Chicago Police Marine Corps League!

May 16, 0600 hours, Vets 1st 20K, Tattler American Legion 4355 N Western: Come out and join us for a short 20k march to raise money for mental health. We’ll board buses at the Tattle Post at 0630 and drive down to 31st/Lake Shore Dr. We’ll hold a short ceremony then march back through a course where 11 of 13 miles are along the lake. The cost is $80. We’re strongly seeking sponsors so we can ensure that every marcher’s donations go straight to mental health. Marchers wanted!

OFFICER WELLNESS

Beginning Thursday, 01 May 2025, the Professional Counseling Division, Employee Assistance Program, will offer a new weekly “No Cop Outs” (NCO) AA Closed Meeting to support the wellness and recovery of our members. These in-person meetings will be held every Thursday at 1000 hours (10:00 a.m.) at EAP Central, 1759 W. Adams Street, Chicago, IL 60612. The NCO initiative is designed to provide a confidential and supportive environment for members who share a desire to stop drinking and are seeking connection with others on a similar path. These meetings are considered closed, meaning they are open only to individuals who identify with the purpose of Alcoholics Anonymous. For more information, please contact P.O.
