John T. Barron Sr., age 89. Late of Crown Point, Indiana formerly of the East Side of Chicago. Passed away suddenly on May 8, 2025. Beloved husband of Angela for 69 years. Loving father of Julie (Bob) Novak, Rhonda (late Tim) Marsh, John Barron Jr. (Diana), Joe (Lenore) Barron, Colleen (Tom) Schumacker, and Eric Barron. Cherished grandfather of Nick (Angela), Marc (Kim), Justin, Kristin (Ren), Adam, Shelby, Jordan, John, Kenneth, and Patrick. Dearest great grandfather of Zoe, Eleni, Anthony, Teddy, Jack, and Jackson. Fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents William and Ethel Barron and siblings: Willene, Joan, Lovie, Ron, Fr. Wayne, Carol, and CPD Edward, Veteran of the U.S. Air Force. John was a retired employee of LTV (Republic Steel). He was an avid train collector and dealer. Visitation Tuesday, May 13, 2025 from 9:30 am until time of Memorial Mass at 10:00 am DIRECTLY at. St. Mary Catholic Church 321 E. Joliet St. Crown Point, IN. 46307. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude's Research Children's Hospital. Bruce E. “Spike” Cleator. Age 90. Chicago Heights Resident for most of his life, most recently living in Norridge, IL. Graduate of Bloom High School Class of 1952. United States Army Veteran. Retired 30 year Firefighter for the Chicago Heights Fire Department. Also worked in Pathology at St James Hospital for over 30 years. Die-hard Chicago White Sox fan, he also loved music playing the Piano, Trumpet, Trombone, Accordion and Juice Harp. He loved being outside with his family and pets tending to his yard and cooking on the grill. Husband for 62 years of the late Carol M. Cleator nee Hetzel. Father of Scott Cleator, Linda (Sam) Kaholokula, Donna (Peter) Aleck, and Bob Cleator. Grandfather of Kyndra (Matt) Riddle, Kiyoshi Kaholokula, Nicholas (Adam), Paul (Christie), Brian and Jake Aleck, and Jessica, Robert and Joshua Cleator. Great grandfather of five and many nieces and nephews. Son of the late Agnes nee Jackson and Thomas Cleator. Brother of the late Thomas (Sarah) Cleator. Resting at Panozzo Bros. Funeral Home, 530 West 14th Street (US Rt 30, 3 blks E of Western Ave), Chicago Heights on Thursday May 15, 2025 from 2:00 pm until time of Funeral Services 6:00 pm. Interment private. PCD/EAP NOTICE!

The Professional Counseling Division/ EAP would like to remind all department members about the Family Member Suicide Support Group, which will meet on Tomorrow, 13 May 2025, at 6:00 p.m. (1800 hrs.) The meeting will take place at the EAP South Office, located at 11540 S. Western Ave., Chicago, IL 60643, Phone: (312) 742 0222. This support group meets on the second Tuesday of every month and is open to the family members of department personnel who are seeking support and resources. If you are interested in joining or would like more information, please call (312) 743-0378 and ask for Assistant Director Kathleen O’Neill to complete the screening process for participation. The Professional Counseling Division/EAP provides confidential support for active, retired, sworn, and civilian department members, as well as their immediate families.
