Anthony J. Caruso Jr. (September 26, 1944 - October 25, 2025) Anthony J. (Tony) Caruso, Jr., 81, passed away peacefully on October 25, 2025. He was held closely in love and prayers by his immediate and extended family and a large circle of dear and loyal friends, colleagues and neighbors. In addition to his loving wife, Gayle, and devoted daughters, Cara Caruso Richmond (John Richmond) and Kelsea Caruso (Adam Barlock), Tony “Papa” leaves behind his precious grandsons, Jacob Caruso Richmond and Griffin Anthony Barlock. The devoted son of the late Anthony, Sr. and Mary Ann Caruso and thoughtful brother of the late Gloria Loveless, Tony is survived by his caring nephew Kenneth Czosnowski (Diana). A veteran of the U.S. Army, Tony was a retiree of the Chicago Police Department after over 40 years of service which included U.S. presidential and high-ranking individual security detail and other community policing and security assignments. A man of faith who loved his family, friends and his ‘Sweet Home, Chicago’, he will be forever treasured and remembered for his kind heart, undeniable charm and generosity. Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 2, 2025, at Blake-Lamb Funeral Home, 4727 W. 103rd St., Oak Lawn, IL 60453 from 11:00 am until the time of the chapel service at 1:00 pm. Tony will be laid to rest at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery during a private ceremony. Robert S. Synal passed away on October 26, 2025. He proudly served as a Battalion Chief with the Chicago Fire Department, dedicating his life to helping others. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered for his strength, kindness, sense of humor, and unwavering love for his family and friends. His legacy of service and compassion will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He was married to the love of his life and best friend Shirley (née Gora), loving father of Robert, Sheri, Sandy (Joseph) Wos, Rick (Kelly), and Stefanie (Maggie). Nothing brought him greater joy than his family, especially his grandchildren — Joseph Robert, Patrick, Summer, Ricky, Joey, Abby, Michael and Zachary — who adored their “Grandpa / Pa” and will forever cherish his stories, laughter, and love. Robert was preceded in death by his parents Bruno and Helen Synal. Dear brother of the late Bruno (late Marlene) Synal and brother-in-law of Geraldine (George) Garvey. Fond uncle to many nieces and nephews and dear cousins. Visitation at Foran Funeral Home, 7300 W.
