Jacob Bouyer obituary, 1939-2026, Chicago, FL

Jacob Leonard Bouyer, 86, formerly of Chicago, died August 13, 2026 in Tallahassee, Florida. He retired from the Chicago Police Department as a Sergeant after serving 30 years. He is survived by his wife of 65 years Patricia Ann Bouyer; daughters Simone Bouyer and Roxanne Bouyer Coleman (Cedric); grandson Brandon A. Johnson; granddaughter Lauren N. Johnson; and five great-grandchildren. Services were held August 22 at Bradwell Mortuary in Quincy, Florida.

Obituary of Dorothy Jane Brady "Dottie Bee"




Dorothy J. Brady, 102, longtime Chicago musician known professionally as Dottie Bee, died peacefully in her sleep Aug. 20, 2026.

Over a performing career spanning nearly 70 years, Dottie sang her way through Chicago’s lounges, supper clubs, hotels, ballrooms and country clubs. She performed for nearly three decades with pianist George Lescher in the Dottie Bee Duo and Dottie Bee Three, helped build the George Lescher Orchestra, and continued booking the orchestra after Lescher’s death until retiring professionally in 1995.

Beginning at age 58, she also worked for 36 years at Oddlie, Ltd., the Brady family antique-restoration business in Beverly, working alongside her sons and grandsons until the shop closed in 2018.

She is survived by sisters Margaret, Virginia and Jeannie; children Dan (Catherine), Alice (Ben), Tim (Dianne) and Catherine (Albert); grandchildren Sarah (James), Daniel C. (Shannon), Laura (Johnnie), Alan (Beth), Robin (Brian), Ryan, Jesse, Lorrin, and Kris; and great-grandchildren Lily, Quill, Ciaran, Jian, Dahlia, Flynn and Uriah.

Visitation will be Wednesday, August 26, from 4–8 p.m., and Thursday, August 27, from 9–11 a.m., at Blake-Lamb Funeral Home, 4727 W. 103rd St., Oak Lawn with funeral service at 11 a.m.

Interment will follow at Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery, 1400 S. Wolf Road, Hillside, Illinois, on August 27, 2026, beginning at 12:15 pm.

Rosemary McCarthy Finnegan Obrochta was born in Chicago, Illinois on Jan. 4, 1922, and became a true ‘Southsider’ because she lived her whole life, in various homes, on the southside of the city. As such, she not only became an avid White Sox fan, but on her 100th AND 103rd birthday, she announced 'play ball' at the beginning of the game behind home plate.



As a child, she loved to wander the neighborhood and peek in the school windows. When she finally became a student, she was already well known by the teachers. She also wandered over to the rectory. They gave her ice cream and called her mother. As a teen, she worked for Dr Lynch, a local dentist. He would regularly send her to Walgreens for a bottle of whiskey when a patient needed anesthesia.



After graduation from St. Nicholas Grammar School and Lindbloom High School, Rosemary began secretarial work at the American Can Company. There she met Tom Finnegan who teasingly called her “Rosie”, a name she didn’t like. But soon they were a couple and eventually married on May 8, 1943. They were blessed with, yes, 10 children!



As a stay-at-home Mom, she worked very hard to keep the children grounded in their faith, busy with chores, and studious at school. She always said that the only word she never wanted to hear on school mornings was ‘where’! Faith and family were everything, and soon many of her activities revolved around their beloved St. Rita Catholic Church and school.



After 40 years at American Can, Tom retired. They enjoyed traveling for a few years, especially their dream trip to Ireland, until Tom had a massive heart attack and died in 1986 while they were visiting Florida. One year later, she met Chester Obrochta whom she married in 1988. They lived their golden years enjoying each other’s companionship until 2018 when Chester died.



Overall, what can be said about this beloved woman? She was quiet by nature, faithful to God and family, fun, wise, witty, and a lover of bingo and anything lemon.



Being 104, Rosemary was preceded in death by many beloved family members, especially Tom and Chester, her first born son, Dennis, twins Mike (Teri Farrell, deceased) and Maureen (Dennis Haak, deceased), and daughter Colleen (James Climack).

She is survived by daughters; Kathleen (Sr. Rosemary Finnegan, O.P.), Patricia (James Spencer), Sharon (Tom Mulcahy), Terrie (Homer Dillard, deceased), Rosemary Murphy (Dennis Montgomery), and son, Brian (Kathy Brady).

Rosemary was so proud of her 17 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and 2 great, great grandchildren. She truly is an admired mentor to the younger generations, and to all, the mother of highest esteem.



Visitation Thursday 9:00 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 a.m. at St. Rita of Cascia Shrine Chapel, 7740 S. Western, Chicago, IL 60620. A live stream link will be available just prior to the Mass.
