Marvin S. Streske, 84, of Buffalo Grove, formerly of Chicago, passed away on September 10, 2026.
A kind, gentle, and caring pilar of his family, Marvin's influence on those he loved most will be felt for years to come. He found great fulfillment in serving his community and helping others in numerous ways, but he held the honor of serving in the United States Marine Corps and in the Army Reserves deeply. His dedication to the community was also evident with his twenty-six years as an officer in the Chicago Police Department.
His love and commitment was felt every day at home with his family. He adored his wife, Sharon, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Ever the adventurer, he loved hunting, fishing, and horseback riding; and if he was spending free time at home, Westerns, war movies, and police television shows were his favorite things to watch. Marvin understood the importance of truly enjoying life through his pastimes and connecting with others, and he will be deeply missed by all whose lives he touched.
Born on October 17, 1941, in Chicago to the late Henry and the late Anastasia Streske, Marvin was the beloved husband of the late Sharon Streske (nee Karsner). Cherished father of Anastasia “Stacie” Rodriguez (Ricardo “Ricky”), Denise Kinnavy, Robert Streske (Cindy), Donald Streske, and Deborah Smith; dear grandfather of Ricky and Gabriel Rodriguez, Darien, Abbie, and Miranda Kinnavy, Alex and Andrew Streske, Adrienne Deming, and Eric and Reed Streske; and adored great-grandfather of twelve.
A visitation will take place from 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM on Tuesday, September 15th, 2026, at Oehler Funeral Home, 2099 Miner Street, Des Plaines, Illinois, with a Funeral Service beginning at the funeral home at 1:30 PM. Battalion Chief Sean R. Kevin, CFD, age 53 of Chicago, IL passed away September 8, 2026.
Sean was the beloved father of Maggie, Delaney, and Will; devoted partner and best friend of Jackie Balduf, and her children, Noah and Ethan. He was the cherished son of Cathy (the late George) Feuerschwenger and
L. Robert (Pat) Kevin; loving brother of Patty (Frank Laraia) Schuler and Carrie (Ingo Hardesty) Manniello; and fond stepbrother of Kurt (Heidi Meredith) Feuer, Karen (Joe) Nychay, and Lynne (Joe) Fusco. He was the dearest uncle of many nieces and nephews, especially John, McKenna, Michael, Lauren, Katelyn, and Jack, a loving friend to his many close cousins, and an adored nephew to his aunts and uncles. Sean was the former spouse of and committed co-parent with Lori Kevin.
Sean proudly served the Chicago Fire Department for 30 years, a career he dedicated himself to with pride and commitment. Above all, Sean loved being a father and cherished the time spent with his family.
He had a love for the Chicago White Sox, Chicago Bears, Iowa Hawkeyes, and Pearl Jam. He enjoyed a good Old Fashioned, spending time at the beach, and celebrating St. Patrick’s Day.
Sean’s warmth, humor, loyalty, and love for those around him will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his family and friends.
Visitation will be held at Malec & Sons Funeral Home, 6000 North Milwaukee Ave, Chicago, IL 60646, US, on September 23, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St Paul of the Cross Church, 320 S Washington Ave, Park Ridge, IL 60068, US, on September 24, 2026, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.
