Retiree Healthcare Phone Calls

The Lodge has heard from many Retired Members today who have been contacted by unsolicited insurance vendors who are offering options and changes to retiree healthcare.

It is very important that all members understand that no changes have been finalized regarding retiree healthcare and insurance providers.

At this time, the Lodge strongly suggests that Retired Members refrain from making any changes that the insurance companies are trying to sell. The Lodge has been diligently working with insurance vendors for more than two years and will be prepared to offer alternate options to healthcare when and if necessary.

Know that consideration to changing coverage at this time would jeopardize the HELPS Provision for Retired Public Safety Officers, which is part of the Federal Pension Protection Act of 2006.

Finally, everyone must be aware that unsolicited contact by any organization interested in collecting personal information is a risk in and of itself.

Stay Safe and God Bless the Police.
