Hi

I work at the BBC in the UK for national news network Radio 5 Live.

We cover national and international news on the station, which is broadcast here and around the world.

On Thursday the 8th December at 7am your time I am planning a special hour long discussion about Chicago and the recent spike in violence there.

I have arranged for our presenters to interview two parents whose sons have died in random shootings, a representative from the YMCA who do a lot of work to steer gang members away from violence, Lori Lightfoot from the police board and hopefully basketball player Cappie Pondexter who is from the city and has family members who have been affected by the violence.

I would also really like to arrange for a former police officer to be part of this – someone recently retired who can talk about the challenges facing the police in the city.

Could you put me in contact with someone please? I would really appreciate any help.

Thank you,
Laura
