SPECIAL EVENT!

The Chicago Police Department Honor Guard will be conducting the annual 24 Hour Vigil at Gold Star Families Memorial and Park on Today, 29 Apr 2022, beginning at 0000 hours and concluding at 2359 hours on 29 Apr 2022. TAPS will be played at 0001 hours to start the Vigil and at 2359 hours to conclude the Vigil. All are welcome to visit the memorial during the 24-hour time period. Wreaths or flowers can be laid at the water wall by those wishing to do so with the assistance of the Honor Guard. Units are encouraged to send department vehicles throughout the Vigil. On Duty members should park on the street in front of the water wall with their blue lights activated. Should you have any questions, please contact the Special Activities Section at 5-5844.

Tickets for the 61st Annual Recognition Ceremony are available for purchase beginning on 27 APR 2022, and continuing until further notice. The tickets are available for purchase in the lobby of the Public Safety Headquarters(PSHQ) building, Monday through Friday from 0800 to 1600 hours. Cash or checks are accepted. If paying by check, please make it payable to: The Chicago Police Memorial Foundation. Tickets may also be purchased online by visiting: https://give.cpdmemorial. org/

There will be NO Northside Retiree Breakfast this Monday, the 02 MAY 2022. For those who are wondering, we lost the room at the Blossom Cafe and had to search for a new place. I am happy to announce that we have a new home starting Monday 06 June 2022 we are trying the Sunrise Grill 1930 E Touhy Ave Des Plaines. IL at 0900 Hours. You can order off the menu and you pay them. The menu can be found at sujnrisegrilldesplaines.com. Ken Hauser and I look forward to seeing everyone there when we start up again in June,
