Timothy Allen Biel, age 64, of Chicago passed away Wednesday, May 4, 2022, at Palos Hospital with his wife and children at his side. Tim was a graduate of St. Lawrence High School in 1976. In 1981 he married the love of his life Margaret “Margie” Spreyne. That same year he joined the City of Chicago FireDepartment, as a Firefighter-EMT, a job that he enjoyed so much he never thought of it as work. During his time on the force, he drove the Deputy District Chief and was known for his sense of humor and passion for cooking. He served 20 years on 71st and Parnell with truck 20, engine 54. After that he served at Archer and Narragansett and concluded his career in the Logistics sector. Retiring in 2020, he looked forward to his favorite hobbies and spending time with his family, including his furry family. Tim enjoyed fishing with his brother Mike and his cousin Don, who was like a second brother to him. Don was affectionately referred to by Tim as the Captain, while Tim was his First Mate. Don’s wife Kathie, his favorite cousin, was always happy to hand Don off for the week. He would also go hunting, but to his family’s delight did not shoot much game. At home he liked to watch Jeopardy and history documentaries, unless there was a John Wayne movie on. He was a huge admirer of nature and in his younger days would go camping often with his friends, Dan and Dave, and his wife Margie. He leaves behind the love of his life for 40 years, Margaret “Margie” Biel; son, Tim M. Biel; daughter, Catherine Biel; soon to be son-in-law, Glen Blosser; his brother Mike Biel; friend Ann Settano; sister-inlaw Marge Biel; sister Bonnie Huntress; brother-in-law Jim Huntress, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was always proud of his Marine Nephew Matthew Huntress. He is preceded in death by his mother Lottie and father Casmir Biel. His family would like people to remember his laughter and kindness. He was a very funny man who was never at a loss for words or a delightful story to entertain. He leaves behind a huge hole that affects many. But he would like people to remember him with stories and joy. Please consider in lieu of a card a donation to Pancreatic Cancer Research or PAWS Chicago in his name. Family and friends will gather for visitation on Friday, May 6, 2022 from 3:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m. Funeral Service Saturday 11:00 a.m. at Palos-Gaidas Funeral Home 11028 Southwest Hwy., Palos Hills, IL.
