George S. Polson, beloved husband, father, brother, and papa, passed away at his home in Arizona on January 20. 2022 at the age of 65 with Felice, his loving wife and soul mate, by his side. George was preceded in death by his parents Evert and Doris. He will be greatly missed by his wife, Felice, his son, Brett (Anne), his daughter, Brittany (Chris) Kaminski, his brother, Glenn, his grandchildren, Olivia and Theodore, and many other loving family members and dear friends who had the good fortune to know him. George was born and raised in Chicago, IL and graduated from Schurz High in 1975. He met the love of his life, Felice, in 1979, and they were married for over 40 years. He joined the Chicago Fire Department in 1980 and retired as a Lieutenant after 32 years of dedicated service. Following retirement, George and Felice bought a home in Gold Canyon, AZ to escape the Chicago winters. George fell in love with the sunshine, Superstition Mountains and everything retired life had to offer in Arizona. In his free time he was an avid sports fan and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, family, friends and neighbors. George will always be a genuine inspiration for his family and friends and will be remembered for his positivity, strength and good nature and infectious smile. A celebration of his life will take place at the M J Suerth Funeral Home, 6754 N. Northwest Hwy, Chicago, IL on Thursday, June 2, 2022. Family greeting friends from the 3-6pm. Family and Friends will share memories and stories of George at 6pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials appreciated to the nationalmssociety.org For further information 773-631-1240.
