PEER SUPPORT PROGRAM!

Since its establishment in 2000, the Peer Support Program has been a resource to provide assistance in times of need for Active and Retired Department members and their families. Certified Peers have completed a 40-hour training and their conversations are protected by confidentiality in place under State Law 5 ILCS 840, First Responders Suicide Prevention Act. Refer to AMC 293848 for instructions to access the list of Peer Support Members in your Unit or District. Active and Retired Peers are on call and available 24/7 and can be reached by calling the Professional Counseling Division number at 312-743-0378.
