Kenneth R. Verbeke, age 82, Retired CPD Officer; Beloved husband of 61 years to Margaret (nee Mack); Loving father to Jim (the late Julie), the late Liz (Ron), Judy, Sue (Rick), and Peggy (Edgar). Proud grandpa to Tim, Haley, Cam, Alyssa (Jimi), Aidan, Matthew (Sierra), Nolan, Joshua, Nicole, Julia, Scott, Brian, Daniel, and great grandpa to Clayton; Devoted son of the late Cecelia (Wonsowicz) and Robert; Dear brother of Margaret and the late Robert (the late Joan); Fond uncle, cousin, and friend to many. Memorial visitation Friday May 12, 2023 10:00am at St. Monica Church 5136 N. Nottingham Ave Chicago with a memorial mass to follow at 11:00am. PEER SUPPORT PROGRAM!

Since its establishment in 2000, the Peer Support Program has been a resource to provide assistance in times of need for Active and Retired Department members and their families. Certified Peers have completed a 40-hour training and their conversations are protected by confidentiality in place under State Law 5 ILCS 840, First Responders Suicide Prevention Act. Refer to AMC 293848 for instructions to access the list of Peer Support Members in your Unit or District. Active and Retired Peers are on call and available 24/7 and can be reached by calling the Professional Counseling Division number at 312-743-0378. For more information on the process to become a Certified Peer, please contact the Peer Support Program Manager at 312-743-0378.
