Robert “Bob” J., Altman, Ret Asst Chief CCSD, U.S. Army Veteran, passed away peacefully, Monday, July 31, ,2023, surrounded by his loving family. Loving Husband and Best Friend to Pamela, nee Tourville. Caring and Devoted Father to Robert, UICPD, and the late Angela Rose. Bob received his angel wings on 07-31-2023, with his wife and son at this side, and his beloved daughter, Angela Rose, waiting for him at the gates of heaven. Bob spent most of his time as an Asst Chief at 13th and Michigan. Dear Brother of the late Edward and the late Dale (Judy). Dear Brother-in-law to John (Marge) Tourville and the late Ronald. Fond Uncle and Friend to many. He loved spending time in Wisconsin boating and going to fairs, and in Mexico on the beach, swimming, and dinner with family and friends. He enjoyed being outside boating and gardening. His favorite holiday was Christmas Eve and he truly enjoyed all of the fish. He loved his family greatly; he will be truly missed. Per his request, his illness was fought privately and he was courageous, he passed away peacefully. Member of the American Legion. Family and Friends are to gather for the Visitation on Sunday, August 6, 2023, from 2:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Russo’s Hillside Chapels, 4500 Roosevelt Road, Hillside, IL 60162 (located between Mannheim & Wolf Road). Funeral to follow Monday, August 7, 2023, from Russo’s Hillside Chapels at 8:00 A.M. Proceeding to Ascension of Our Lord Catholic Church, 1S314 Summit Ave, Oakbrook Terrace, IL 60181. Alex Horstein, Jr., 74, of Edison Park. Retired CPD, O'Hare Airport, and 023 rd District Tact Team. Passed away suddenly on July 31, 2023. Beloved husband of Maureen, nee Halverson. Loving father of Charlie Horstein and Carrie (Paul) Matthews. Proud grandfather of Colton, Conor, Hudson, and Madeline. Visitation will take place Wednesday, August 9, 2023, at the M J Suerth Funeral Home, 6754 N. Northwest Hwy., Chicago from 5:00 pm until the time of the funeral service which will be held at 7:00 pm.
