Jean E. Klockowski, age 84, passed away on Tuesday, August 8, 2023. She is survived by her loving children: John (Sylvia) Klockowski and Kathy Klockowski; cherished granddaughter, Annika Klockowski; sister, Bernadette Aviles; sister-in-law, Pat Stoddard and brother-in-law, Jim (Margaret) Klockowski. Jean is also survived by several nieces, nephews and dear friends. Preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Klockowski, Retired Chicago Police Department and brother, Gary Stoddard. Jean retired from Quality Snacks where she worked as a Bookkeeper for 20+ years. She loved visiting the casino and spending time with family. She enjoyed bowling and playing softball in her younger years. Jean will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, August 15, 2023 from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Andrew J. McGann and Sons Funeral Home, 10727 S. Pulaski Road, Chicago, Illinois. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, 10:00 A.M., at Andrew J. McGann and Sons Funeral Home. Rev. Fred Pesek officiating. Interment Resurrection Cemetery, Justice, Illinois. Our monthly luncheon this month is on Wednesday, August 16, 2023 at the EAGLE BUFFET AT CASINO ARIZONA, 524 N. 92nd St, Scottsdale, AZ 85256, right off the 101 & 202 at McKellips.

WE HAVE A GUEST SPEAKER THIS MONTH, FORMER SHERIFF JOE ARPAIO. Bill Whelehan, one of our members, has made arrangements and Joe said he will be here.

The buffet does not open until 11:00 AM. We will check-in at 11:00 AM. Stay in the right line, and please identify yourself, that you are with the CPD AZ Retiree Luncheon group. When you pay, the cost of the luncheon is now $25.00, which includes all you can eat, beverage, dessert, tax and tip. Laura Peterson, the food service manager, is our contact person. She is doing a wonderful job to accommodate our group. They will try to get us through the line and get seated quickly. We will be in the rear room if it is available. SPECIAL EVENT!

The CPD Chaplains will be hosting a screening of ‘Sabbath’, a documentary by award winning filmmaker Martin Doblmeier, focusing on rest. This special screening is for active and retired CPD members and will be held on Tuesday, 12 Sep 2023 from 1230-1600 hours at Park Community Church, 1001 N. Crosby St, Chicago IL. There will also be discussion after the documentary.
