Anton "Tony '' Waitkus, age 80, of Hebron, IN, formerly of Lakes of the Four Seasons, IN, and Chicago, IL passed away on Monday, August 14, 2023. Tony is survived by his wife of 54 years, Catherine Waitkus (nee Stefansko); children: Tracy (Don) Lorntzen, Brian (Michelle) Waitkus; 10 grandchildren: Amanda (Nick) Fricke, Ray (Jessica) Fricke, Tyler Fricke, Anton "Tony" Waitkus, Emilee (Jared) Krause, Conner Waitkus, Sydney Waitkus, Jayd Ferry, Hunter Ferry, and Kavender Ferry; 1 great-granddaughter, Harper Dinga; and siblings: Pat (Roe) Waitkus, Helen (late Tom) Dublin, Frank (Blanca) Waitkus, Christine Casey, Ricky Waitkus; and many beloved cousins, nieces and nephews. Tony was preceded in death by his parents: Peter and Mary Waitkus. Tony retired from ABF after 40 years of service within the trucking industry. He was also the retired Captain of LOFS Fire Department. Tony loved being on the water. His favorite water activities were boating, fishing, and jet skiing. Tony also enjoyed playing poker, but above all, he enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a loving husband, father and Papa. Tony will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, August 20, 2023, at Geisen Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 624 N. Main St., Hebron, IN 46341 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A Prayer service will take place at 6:30 PM. Additional visitation will be on Monday, August 21, 2023, DIRECTLY at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 7667 E 109th Ave, Crown Point, IN 46307 at 9:00 AM until the time of Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM with Fr. Thomas Mischler officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in Tony's name to the PSP Foundation (Progressive Supranuclear Palsy).
