Edward Carfora was recently diagnosed with untreatable cancer. In true Ed fashion, he stated, “Well, I had 75 great years!” Ed spent nearly 30 years serving and protecting as a Chicago Police Officer; a job he truly loved. He dedicated his life to his family. He drove his wife of nearly 51 years crazy, but he adored her like no other. He supported and encouraged his children in everything they did. He treasured his grandchildren and found great joy in them. Ed was a various reader, die hard Cubs fan—well, really most Chicago sports teams you could get him talking about, and Disney was his favorite place and subject! In fact, if you asked him, you could get his opinion on anything…okay, let’s be honest, you didn’t have to ask him! Even though he may have been loud and opinionated, you couldn’t ask for a better man to have in your corner because when he loved you, he loved you deeply. On Tuesday, August 22nd, he passed peacefully surrounded by his loving wife, Susan (Tardi), and his two children, Nicole (Ruiz) and Edward. He will also be forever missed by his loving daughter-in-law, Gwen, and grandchildren, Ashley, Micheal, Natalie, and Joseph. Visitation Monday, August 28th at Peterson Bassi Chapels, 6938 W. Victoria A. Wieser, age 79, late of Burnham, IL and formerly of the East Side passed away on August 23, 2023. Loving mother of Jay (TPD) (Ellen) Wieser and Rick (CCFD) (Patricia) Wieser. Devoted grandmother of twins Tim Wieser and Jeff Wieser, Robert Swiedals, and Mary (Justin) Lattz. Adored great- grandmother of Oliver Lattz. Dear daughter of the late Walter Ksiazek and late Martha Ksiazek. Dearest sister of late Walter (late Barbara) Ksiazek and late Ronald (Elaine) Ksiazek. Fond aunt of many nieces and nephews.
