2 Oct. 23 Angie’s Place by Your Story Counseling!

For several months, me and a team of mental health therapists have been working diligently to create a healing place for first responders, veterans, and their families. Angie’s Place by Your Story Counseling was created to honor the unique struggles and stories of those who serve us and their families by providing culturally competent therapy with therapists who share in their unique experiences. All our therapists are former first responders or family of first responders or veterans.

Emotional wellness is an essential part of managing the routine exposure to chronic trauma, and many times, community and organizational leadership doesn’t feel equipped to provide the resources necessary for healing and education, and Angie’s Place was created to provide the training, support, and networking necessary to meet the dynamic needs of the first responder and veteran populations.

On Monday, October 2nd, from 5:30p until 8:30p, at Weber Grill Restaurant in Lombard in the Smokey Joe’s Bar, we’re hosting a free networking and launch event for Angie’s Place to bring together the stories of the therapists on our team, community leaders, families, and community and department stakeholders. Our goal is for you to learn more about us and Angie’s story and to find a place to network with other professionals who are working on wellness initiatives or are struggling to identify support to develop similar programs. The event will include introductions of our team, an overview of Angie’s Place, and the rest of the evening is open food, drinks, and networking.
