Kathleen Conwell (Ames, Toner) passed away peacefully in Fort Myers, FL on December 4, 2023 at the age of 87. Kathleen was born in Chicago, IL to Anne (Panozzo, Rito) & Louis Borgo who both predeceased her. Her sister, Mary Ann Burke (Hay) also predeceased her. Kathleen was a Wonderful Mother to four children, Janise Rafalski, Cynthia Martinotti (Thomas), Dale Ames (Carol) and James Toner (Joanie) She had eight grandchildren, Paul Rafalski, Patrick Rafalski, Maryellen Raimondi (Paul), Nicole Lefebvre (Corey), Kyle Ames, Shane Toner (Blair), Amanda Toner and Samantha Toner, and three great-grandchildren, Rhyan Rafalski, Addisyn Rafalski and Evelyn Lefebvre. She is also survived by her niece Gwendolyn (Hay DaMato), and many friends and family. During the many years Kathleen lived in Orland Park, IL she joined the NALC Union in 1966 and was a life member, she retired as a USPS letter carrier in 1992. Kathleen was also an officer with the Orland Park Police and Deputy Sheriff for Cook County holiday courts. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Olive Chapter #179 in Oak Lawn for over 50 years. She was an asset to the senior citizen program in Manteno, IL for years handling activities and luncheons. Kathleen lived in Manteno for over 20 years before moving to Fort Myers, FL with her daughter, Janise to be closer to her daughter, Cynthia. Kathleen had a very strong belief in God. That faith is what got her through brain surgery, breast cancer and heart problems. She once wrote, "If the Lord is with me, who can be against me." Her love was definitely BINGO! Anytime, anywhere, if she could get there, she was there! There was a private viewing before Kathleen was cremated by Legacy Options. Though we know she is in a better place, she is and will always be dearly loved and missed. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you make a donation to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (stjude.org), the Shriners Children's (lovetotherescue.org) or to a cause of your choice in memory of Kathleen.
