Patrick J. Brennan, age 45, of Chicago, IL passed away peacefully and surrounded by family on January 28, 2024 after a four year battle with colon cancer. Pat was married to Eileen (Haugh) for 17 wonderful years and was a father to their five cherished children, Patrick (13), Declan (12), Eamon (9), Cora (6) and Colette (4) as well as their late daughter Neave. Pat is survived by his parents Eileen (Murphy) and Edward Brennan (Ret. C.P.D), as well as his brothers Edward (Wendy), Martin C.P.D. (Colleen) and James (Meaghan). He was a beloved uncle, cousin, nephew and friend to many. Pat attended St. Eugene Elementary School and Notre Dame College Prep. He earned the distinction of an Evans Scholar at Northern Illinois University and went on to receive a law degree from John Marshall Law School. Pat dedicated 24 years of his life as a devoted Chicago Police Officer where he earned the prestigious Life Saving Award and played many different roles including law instructor at the Chicago Police Academy, working for the Superintendent in Legal Affairs, and being on many specialized teams. His commitment to upholding the law was a testament to his strength, compassion and unwavering integrity. Patrick J. Brennan held many impressive titles, but the ones he was most proud of were husband and father. Although he left us far too soon, his legacy is truly everlasting. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 2, 2024 from 4:00pm-8:00pm at Immaculate Conception Church, 7211 West Talcott Ave, Chicago 60631. The funeral will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at 10:00am at Immaculate Conception Church. Interment at All Saints Catholic Cemetery, 700 North River Road, Des Plaines, 60016. Wife Of John (CFD) Deceased for Fifty-Four Years; Mother and Teacher To John (Doreen), Kathleen (John) Geoghegan, Joe, Deceased, And Peg (Tom) Tunney. Peg Was Born and Raised In The Visitation Parish And She Was A Byrnes Wagner Mom. She Was a Long Time Employee of Mother McAuley High School in The Attendance Office. Grandma And Grandpa Were Part of The Traveling Squad Taking in All of Their Grandchildren's Activities. Mom And Dad Were Great Travelers. They Would Hitch Up the Camper to Dad’s Suburban and Take Off on A New Adventure Every Summer. They Would Travel Around the Great Lakes, Run Down to Kentucky Or Head Off To The Ozarks. Much To the Dismay of Their Children, The Arkansas Trips Were Usually in April (Tornadoes), But They Didn't Mind Riding Out the Storms in The Equivalent of a Backyard Shed, As Long As They Were Together. Peg Lived on Millard Ave for Fifty-Six Years and Was Blessed with The Best Neighbors on The South Side. Peg Was a Long Time Member of Saint Christina Parish. She And Her Recently Departed Son, Joe, Were Fixtures at The Saturday Afternoon Mass. They Are Now Joyfully Reunited in The Kingdom of Heaven. Mom Was Pretty, Smart, Intuitive And, At Times, Had Too Good of a Memory. She Was a Lovely Lady. Our Family Wishes to Express Our Deep Appreciation for The Sisters and Staff at Rosary Hill. They Are Angels That Walk Amongst Us and Are Sure to Miss “Peggy”. In Lieu Of Flowers Donations Can Be Made to Rosary Hill Home, 9000 W. 81st Street, Justice, IL 60458.
