Guy P. Ringo, age 83, passed away on February 2, 2024. Loving husband of Marilyn (nee: Nawracaj/Tennicott); stepfather to Brian (Kim) Tennicott and Matthew (Nancy) Tennicott; Grandpa/Papa to Brandon, Max, Nate, Maya and Eli. Guy was preceded in death by his parents, George, and Esther Ringo. Friends may greet the family on Sunday, February 4, 2024, from 2:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Burdan Funeral Home, 12901 Wicker Ave., Cedar Lake, IN. Inurnment will be held at another date at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL. Guy was a proud Army veteran who was stationed in Korea. He was proud to be a part of the Big Red One Division. Guy retired as a Captain from the Harvey IL Fire Department. Afterwards, he worked for C.S. Cosmo Stihl Manufacturing where he was a truck driver. Guy loved golfing, travelling, and cooking. He had an extensive collection of cookbooks and often tried new recipes, but also had his famous dishes. He will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him. Probationary Police Officer James E. Doyle Star #9093 All radio zones will observe a 30 second period of radio silence on 05 February 2024 at 1200 hours. This is in honor of Probationary Police Officer James E. Doyle #9093, assigned to the Education and Recruit Training Division-Unit 044, who was shot and killed in the line of duty on 05 February 1982 in the 006th District.
