John B Downes, age 89, of Chicago, Illinois passed away on Sunday, February 25, 2024 with his loving family by his side. Beloved husband of Jean L. nee Gray; cherished father of the late John B. Jr. (late Mary Jo); loving father/uncle of Jimmy (Kathleen) Gray; also loving father figure to Quinten and Scot; devoted grandfather of Jean Marie, John B. III and Anthony James; dear brother of Jim (Anne), Phillippa (Patrick) and the late Rose (Chris), late Sheila, late Dolores and the late Patricia; fond uncle, cousin and friend of many. John will be lovingly remembered for taking care of his family. He was also a dedicated employee with Peoples Gas and the Cook County Sheriff's Department. Memorial visitation, Saturday, March 9, 2024, from 11:00 am until time of service at 1:00 pm. Interment Mount Olive Cemetery, 3800 N. Narragansett Ave in Chicago. Steven A. Maldonado, Jr. age 33, late of the East Side passed away on February 25, 2024. Beloved son of Steven Sr. (Ret CPD) and Rosa Maldonado. Loving brother of Mariah Maldonado. Loving Fiancé of Jacqueline Garcia. Loving father of Steven Maldonado III and Sophia Maldonado. Dearest grandson of Dolores “Lola” and late Anibal Maldonado, late Guadalupe DeLeon and late Miguel Mendez. Also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
