Linda Kowal, age 76. Late of South Chicago. Passed away on May 13, 2024. Beloved wife of the late John Kowal. Loving mother of the late Martin Douglas, Kimberly (John) Boreczky, and Eddie (Debbie) Douglas. Cherished grandmother of Wendy (Andrew) Douglas, Martin (Samantha) Ryan, Erica Douglas, Raymond (Samantha) Irish, Ryan (Courtney) Irish, and Brandon Sweeney. Great grandmother of Jeremy Long. Dearest sister of the late Robert Hecimovich. Adored cousin of Lorraine Painter. Linda loved her cats, tequila, and tv shows. She was known for her variety of talents and careers over the years. Linda was a retired CPD officer. Per Linda’s request, the family asks that no black is worn to the funeral services. Ervin F. Siemers, former Chief of Police of the Village of Norridge, 82, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at home, on May 11, 2024. Erv was the beloved husband of Carol, née Schield, for over 60 wonderful years. Loving father of Diana, married to Richard O’Connell; Judith, married to John Figliuolo; and Cynthia, married to Charles Stec. Dear son of the late Phyllis, née Schmuck, and the late Ervin A. Siemers. Cherished grandfather of Carlie Figliuolo, Haylie Stec, Frank Stec, Jack Figliuolo and Jenna O’Connell. Erv also loved his two grand-dogs, Wrigley, and Louis. Ervin was a devout member of Acacia Park Lutheran Church in Norridge, Illinois. During his later years, Erv and Carol spent their winter months in Fort Myers, Florida where they could enjoy the sun every day. Erv was an avid golfer and fisherman that loved to explore many lakes and courses with his friends. In lieu of flowers, donations to ‘Shop with A Cop,’ Norridge Police Department, 4020 N Olcott Ave, Norridge, Illinois 60706, are appreciated. Please join us for a visitation on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, from 3:00 p.m until 8:00 p.m. at Cumberland Chapels (8300 W Lawrence Avenue, Norridge, Illinois) Friends and family will gather at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 16th at Cumberland Chapels for an 11:00 a.m. service. Charles J. Trauscht, Army Veteran, retired Cook County Sheriff Police, age 84, formerly of Homer Glen. Beloved husband of Marilyn (nee Wnorowski). Loving father of Charles P. (Tracy), Peter and Adrianne (Michael) Salvador. Devoted grandfather of Morgan, Charlotte, Tiffany, Alicia and Zachary Trauscht and Graham and Ella Salvador. Our monthly luncheon this month is on Thursday, May 16, 2024 at the EAGLE BUFFET IN CASINO ARIZONA, 524 N. 92nd St, Scottsdale, AZ 85256, right off the 101 & 202 at McKellips. The buffet does not open until 11:00 AM. We will check-in at 11:00 AM. Stay in the right line, and please identify that you are with the CPD AZ Retiree Luncheon group. When you pay, the cost of the luncheon is now $25.00, which includes all you can eat, beverage, dessert, tax, and tip. Laura Peterson, the food service manager, is our contact person. She is doing a wonderful job to accommodate our group. They will try to get us through the line and get us seated quickly. We will be in the rear room if it is available.
