nald D. Hamilton of Naples, FL, formerly of Minneapolis, MN, Chicago, IL, and Lake Geneva, WI, passed away peacefully with his wife by his side on October 23rd, 2024. Don, son of Robert D. and Doris (Hazelden), was born January 30, 1942, in Minneapolis, MN, received his undergraduate degree from Macalester College and a master’s degree in healthcare administration from the University of Minnesota. He also was a graduate of Harvard University’s AMP 108 class where he met the love of his life, his second wife Gloria. He spent his entire career in healthcare, beginning as an ambulance driver in college. His 50-year career included CEO of two different healthcare systems, one in Albuquerque, NM, and another in Louisville, KY, before joining Ernst & Young’s consulting practice as a direct admit partner. Later, he established in-house healthcare practices for Jones Lang LaSalle and Parsons before retiring. He also had a 28-year career in the US Marine Corps, which included two tours of Vietnam and 24 years in the reserves, achieving rank of Lt. Colonel. He was also proud of his 10 years of service as a Collier County Volunteer Sheriff. He is predeceased by his sister Dede Skold, Edina, Mn. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Gloria, his two sons, Eric and Brett, and two grandchildren. His first marriage ended in divorce. Final arrangements were private. He will be buried at Arlington National Cemetery.

Devoted mother of Michael (Coleen) Spain, Mary Elizabeth (Mike) Madden and Suzanne (Craig Bewick) Spain. Proud grandma Gee Gee of Michael, Emmett, Brenna, Liam, Michaela, Ellie and Gillian. Cherished daughter of the late Jack and Mary Daly. Adored sister of Patsy (Bob) Maiers and the late Susan (late Tom) Gorski. Dear aunt of many nieces and nephews. Former firefighter, paramedic, engineer, with the Palos Heights Fire Department. Visitation Thursday 3-8 p.m. Funeral Service Friday 11:00 a.m. at the Robert J. Sheehy & Sons Funeral Home, 9000 W. 151st Street, Orland Park, IL. Interment private. In lieu of flowers donations to Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., 17th Floor, Chicago, IL 60601 would be appreciated.
