Filmmaker looking for help from a homicide Det.

Hi,

I'm a filmmaker in Chicago, hoping for some insight on running a murder investigation or detective work. My goal is to write an accurate portrayal of what happens with these cases.

I would like a few moments of a detective's time to go over their day to day. I'm curious about the whole process from when they get the call to when the case goes to trial or if a deal is taken. I am also curious about modern-day serial killers, one of my scripts is about the subject matter.
