Kelly Ann Baker, 61, April 30, 2022, long time resident of the South Side of Chicago, Canaryville neighborhood. World’s Greatest Mom of Evan Baker, Jenna Baker, and Colin Baker. Beloved sister of the (late) Colleen McFarlane, Maureen McFarlane, Lauren McFarlane, Lisa McFarlane, and Richard (Kelly) McFarlane; and loving sister-in-law of Barb and Cindy Baker. Dearest aunt of Morgan, Kaitlyn, Megan, Theresa, Leo, Jacqueline, Christi, John, Johnna, Angela, and Jimmy. Kelly was preceded in death by the love of her life, John Baker, and her parents, Richard J. (CPD) and Jean Marie (nee Moody) McFarlane. Cherished friend and sister to the Condon Family, her other Clan. Kelly worked for 30 + years as a clerk at Alexander Graham School, in Canaryville. When she retired, students, teachers and staff were sad to see her leave. She enjoyed working with them, just as much as they enjoyed having her as part of their school. Kelly had a heart like no other. She was extremely kind and compassionate to anyone in need. She was the epitome of a True Warrior and we loved her beyond measure. We were so very blessed to call her our Mom, sister, aunt and friend. Services at McINERNEY CENTRAL CHAPEL, 4635 S. Wallace St., Chicago, IL, where family and friends will gather on Friday, May 6, 2022, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral is on Saturday, May 7, 2022, at 9 a.m. at chapel, to St. Gabriel Church, 600 W. 45th St., Chicago for a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial. Edward J. Lyons passed away peacefully on May 1, 2022. The beloved husband of Eileen (Duhig) Lyons. The son of the late Edward and Margaret Lyons, loving older brother to Peggy (Jack) Harkins, the late Tom (Sue) Lyons, Gerald Lyons and his companion Sue Pauls; fond brother-in-law to Michael Duhig (Retired CPD), Mary (Dolly) Brenz, Thomas (the late Marilyn) Duhig, the late Martin (Karen) Duhig, Peggy (the late Robert) Durkin, James (Kathy) Duhig, John (Val) Duhig, Patrick (Marie) Duhig, the late Ann (Dr. Michael) Liston Sr., Cathy (Bill) Holland, Daniel (Diane) Duhig; larger than life uncle to more than 55 nieces and nephews. Ed graduated from Our Lady of Peace, Mt. Carmel High School (’57), and St. Ambrose University. He loved and held his friends close to his heart. He was involved with sports from his high school days until he retired from umpiring high school and college football games. He was kind, thoughtful and didn’t tolerate bullies. Jim Sunagel, 83, passed away April 28, 2022. The son of Joseph and Eva Sunagel. He served in the United States Marine Corps. He was an Elk Grove Village firefighter for 22 years and retired as Deputy Fire Chief. Then became Fire Chief of Roselle, IL for 9 years. He married his best friend Betty Laseman in 1960. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Betty of 62 years; his children, Karen Tolstead, Cindy (Cyndee Chopp) Sunagel, Lisa (Jim) Ozimek, and Sue Sunagel. Grandchildren, David Stibgen, Matt Ozimek, Joey Tolstead; great-grandchild, Connor Duffy; and sister-in-law, Carol Sunagel. Loving uncle to Dale (Doris) Sunagel, Bryan (Meghan) Sunagel; godfather to Janet (Lou) Wright. Also leaves behind many cousins and was known as "Uncle Jim" and a mentor to many. He was preceded in death by his parents; mother-in-law, Millie Laseman; brother, Gerald Sunagel; niece, Sharon Sunagel; and granddaughter, Nicole Tolstead. He retired to Wisconsin for 20 years, upon returning to IL, was still a big time Packers and Badgers fan. His hobbies included, fishing, hunting and golfing which was time well spent with his buddies. He also loved to make furniture in his work shop. He enjoyed coaching his daughter's softball teams and had many successful seasons. He was a member of the Medinah Shriners and the Sun City Huntley Marines. Service will be private for family. Donations can be made to Shriners Hospital for Children (Chicago), in his name.
