Frank R. Ardito, Jr. 89, of Huntley, died peacefully at home, February 22, 2023. Frank was born May 2, 1933 in Chicago, the son of Frank and Jean Ardito. A United States Army Veteran, Frank married Marnee B. Boerner on May 28, 1966. For 33 years Frank worked for the City of Chicago Department of Human Services, retiring as Supervisor of Training and Development. An author of several books and a dry humorist, Frank played saxophone professionally and loved Jazz music. He was an avid Sox Fan. Frank was a true humanitarian and was active at St. Mary Catholic Church. He was a loving husband, father and friend who will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife, Marnee, his three sons, Matthew Ardito, Frank (Danielle) Ardito and CPD Det. Kevin (Anna) Ardito and also by many nieces and nephews. Frank was preceded in death by his parents, and his siblings, Sam, Grace and James. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 3, 2023 from 4-7pm at DeFiore Funeral Home-10763 Dundee Road, Huntley. There will also be visitation on Saturday, March 4, from 9am until the time of the 10am Mass all at St. Mary Catholic Church-10307 Dundee Road, Huntley. The burial will be in Huntley Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital. Proud grandfather of Paul, Robyn and Bobby. Cherished great-grandfather of Dean, Drew, Gwen and Evie. Services and interment private at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
