John A. Dunlop, retired Chief of Police for the Village of La Grange Park, Illinois peacefully passed away on March 31, 2023. Chief Dunlop was a longtime Riverside, Illinois resident, recently a resident of Indian Head Park, Illinois and Ft Myers Beach, Florida. He is survived by his wife Donna (nee Prucha), daughter Laura (John) Buckley, Grandsons John Richard Buckley (Christen Wesley) and Michael Andrew Buckley (Shuyan Zheng), two great-grandchildren John Lucas and Eva Magdalena Wesley Buckley, sister Lenore (Herb) Lawrence, niece Elizabeth Retke and nephew David (Dini) Lawrence. Also survived by Donna’s children, Brian Dohney, Cory (Jimmy) Guttillo, and the late Robert (Selena) Dohney, and was Grandpa John to their children Alexis, Savannah, Dakota, Kaylee, Sierra, Jimmy, Jake, and Shyanne. Preceded in death by his father Andrew Patterson Dunlop, mother Beatrice (nee Jedlin) and brother James Douglas Dunlop. After serving one year with the Illinois State Police, Chief Dunlop served the Village of La Grange Park and the residents from 1961 until his retirement in 1995. He served on many Boards and Committees, particularly during his eight years as Police Chief, working to improve the lives of those in the La Grange Park community. He was always looked up to in the Village and throughout law enforcement and had received numerous awards and commendations for his service. He enjoyed taking his motorcycle for a ride (including as a member of the Blue Knights), travelling with Donna, and visiting the shores of Lake Michigan near Mackinac Island. Conrad J. "Skip" Juckins, age 82, a resident of Naperville, IL since 1990, formerly of Chicago, Midlothian and Orland Park, IL, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 1, 2023 with his family by his side. He was born on February 1, 1941 in Chicago, IL. Beloved husband of the late Barbara T. "Barb" Juckins (nee Nau), whom he married March 17, 1962 and who preceded him in death on April 8, 2020, loving father of Teri Kovarik, Diane (Bill) Kovarik, Joan (Rachel) Simpkins and the late James Juckins, adored grandfather of Collins Simpkins, devoted son of the late Conrad and Estelle Juckins, dear brother of Este Jones, brother-in-law of the late Patricia Seifert and the late Bob (the late Kathy) Nau, fond uncle, great-uncle and friend of many. Skip grew up in Chicago's Chicago Lawn neighborhood (where he met his future wife, Barbara), attended St. Nicholas of Tolentine Grade School, St. Ignatius High School and was a 1959 graduate of St. Rita High School. Skip served for over twenty years as a police officer with the City of Palos Heights, IL. After his retirement from the police department, Skip worked for the LoJack Corporation and later as a realtor, co-owning Riverwalk Realty in Naperville with his wife, Barbara. Skip was a member of Community Christian Church in Naperville and a supporter of 360 Youth Services in Naperville. He enjoyed dancing and good food and wine. Services and interment will be private. Spiritual Wellness is a vital part of Officer Wellness. The Chicago Chapter of the Fellowship of Christian Peace Officers holds its regular monthly meetings on the 2nd Saturday of each month at the Chicago Police Academy.
