Patricia N. Carrizales, “Pat”, age 78, late of Lansing, IL and formerly of South Chicago passed away on August 15, 2023. Loving mother of Veronica “Ronnie” Salazar and Deana (Fiancé David Tellez) Pietrzak. Devoted grandmother of Natalie Pietrzak, Timothy (Vero) Salazar, Steven Salazar, Daniel Salazar, Samantha Salazar and Anissa Rivera. Cherished great-grandmother of Mariah Pietrzak, Jayden Salazar, Bella Salazar, Julianna Salazar, Valerie Salazar, Hannah Salazar, and Ava Salazar. Dear daughter of the late Eulalio (Lalo) and late Henrietta (Savala) Cortez. Special daughter of late Juanita Carrizales. Dearest sister of many loving brothers and sisters. Fond aunt of numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Former wife of Paul Pietrzak (Retired CPD). Patrica was retired from CPD (Supvr. Organized Crime, 32 yrs of service) and a member of the South Deering Senior Club. She was a loving and kind person to many people from childhood to adulthood. And, she loved all her family with every fiber of who she was. Family was everything to her. She was a very independent, stubborn and sometimes sassy person, and those of you that knew her are smiling right now because that is who she was. Her spirit for living will never be forgotten. Memorial visitation Friday, August 25, 2023, from 2-8 p.m. at the Elmwood Chapel 11200 S. Ewing Ave. Chicago, IL 60617. Memorial service on Friday evening at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home. August R. Locallo age 98, fondly known as Gus, passed away peacefully on August 18, 2023 in the comfort of his home. Gus was the beloved husband for 53 years of the late Anna Mae, nee Kelly; loving father of August Locallo (Deanne Stoery), the Hon. Daniel M. Locallo Ret. (Jean), Mary Kay (Carl) Reichenbach and the late Victor Locallo; dearest son of the late Victoria and Frank Locallo; dear brother of the late Victor, Sam, and Joseph. Cherished grandfather of Mark, Eric, and Lindsay Locallo, Lauren (Chris) Stump, Kevin (Kate) Locallo, and Chase Reichenbach. Great grandfather of Colin, Vince, Amber, Lily, Gavin,Keegan, Dylan, Logan, Felicia and Liam. Great great grandfather of Arrow; loving uncle to many and caring father-in-law to Karen Locallo. Gus joined the Chicago Police Department in 1952 and worked his way up the ranks from police officer to Captain/Commander. He worked in various units within the department such as beat cop, traffic division, burglary, robbery, and violent crimes. He was well known for his hard work and keen intuition. Gus retired from the Police Department in 1988 as a Captain and went on to work as the Chief of Traffic downtown Chicago for the Cook County Sheriff's Office. Throughout his career he held many security jobs in addition to his police job. His work ethic was nothing short of amazing. Gus was not only a mentor to many but the man everyone went to for advice and help. His dedication to his family and his friends was his top priority. There wasn’t anything Gus couldn’t build, fix, or improve. He was known for his infectious smile, larger than life laugh, best pancakes on the planet, and his mad card playing skills. Gus continued to make friends during his time in both Arizona and Georgia. He had new life experiences well into his 90’s and was loved by so many. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Chicago Police Memorial Foundation at cpdmemorial.org or The Facial Pain Research Foundation, Inc. facingfacialpain.org would be appreciated. Visitation Friday, August 25, 2023 from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Cumberland Chapels 8300 W. Lawrence Ave., Norridge, Il. Funeral services begin at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 26, 2023, at the funeral home, and then proceed to St. Eugene Church in Chicago for mass at 10:00 a.m.. God our Father welcomed Nancy Jane home on August 10, 2023. Nancy was born in Chicago, IL to Anthony (1979) and Anna E. Providence (2005); graduated from Kelvyn Park High School. She went on to become the best Executive Secretary in downtown Chicago for top Executives with GATX, Arthur Rubloff, Orange Crush Company, and Cosmopolitan Bank. Loving wife to Joe Parisi Jr. (2005, Retired Chicago PD Captain), Mother to Laura Jean and Richard John (2009), Mother-in-law to Jed M. Davis, The most wonderful "Nana" to Joseph "Joey" Anthony Davis, Sister to Judie Ann (2022) and Thomas Mitchell Sr. and Carol Mae (2005) and Victor Kunisada (deceased), Auntie, Godmother, and Friend to so many! Nancy and Joe were lifelong fans of the Chicago Bears! She was fiercely independent and outgoing, and loved her wine! Nancy kept in touch with everyone by sending birthday, anniversary, memorial, etc., cards every year to generations of family and friends! Nancy's legacy of love and compassion, and the warmth of her smile will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of the Valley, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Phoenix Rescue Mission, or your own favorite charity in Nancy's name. SPECIAL EVENT!

On Thursday, 31 August 2023 at 1000 hours, the Superintendent will host the Honored Star Case Ceremony. The stars of 6 Chicago Police Officers, who died in the line of duty will be retired: Sergeant Francis J. McGraw #232 EOW: 06 May 1942 Detective Joseph A. Tripoli #20571 EOW: 03 January 2022 Patrolman Dennis F. Collins #6874 EOW: 03 July 1953 Patrolman Charles A. Hibsch #4348 EOW: 09 November 1947 Police Officer Jose M. Huerta #13611 EOW: 23 December 2021 Police Officer James R. Svec #16713 EOW: 08 December 2021 The ceremony will be held in the lobby of the Chicago Public Safety Headquarters building located at 3510 S. Michigan Avenue.The parking lot entrance to the headquarters building will be closed from 0800 hours until 1230 hours for the ceremony. Access to the building will be limited to the Michigan Avenue entrance during this time. Emergency exits will be accessible via the southwest loading dock and northeast Michigan Avenue doors. Sworn Command Staff attending the ceremony should be in Class A dress uniform which consists of the blouse, long-sleeved shirt, tie, wool pants, wool hat without the winter band, and polished regulation shoes. No baton. No white gloves. Attire for Civilian Command Staff Members: Males: suit, tie and dress shoes. Females: dress or suit and dress shoes.
