Lester Lawrence Hershinow, January 1, 1940, passed peacefully on October 2, 2023. He was predeceased by his wife, Vicki, father, Harry, mother, Eva, stepfather, George Johnson, brother, Sheldon (Lorna), and son, Brent. He is survived by his brother Aaron (Sue), and a very special extended family. He is also survived by a son, H. Brian (Tamara), daughter, Amy Weiss, stepdaughters, Barbara Weintraub and Pamela Kahane, and stepson, Steven (Rachel) Kahane, as well as grandchildren from all. Lester graduated from New Trier High School, where he excelled at wrestling before enlisting in the U.S. Army. Honorably discharged, he served his first career for 24 years as a Highland Park Police officer. After his retirement, he found driving a school bus for children to be his second rewarding career. A graveside service will be held at Shalom Memorial Park/Randhill Park Cemetery, 1700 W. Rand Road, Arlington Heights, on Friday, October 6, 2023, at 10:00am. Wesley Morgan Schulz, 65, born in Evansville IN, peacefully passed away in his home on September 28th, 2023. Wes was the husband of his loving and dedicated wife of 40 years, Mary Schulz of Palatine, IL. He was also the proud father of his two children, Emily Schulz of Palatine, IL, and Todd Schulz (Lindsay) of Fox River Grove, IL. Wes was the proud "Pops" to his granddaughter, Audrey, whom he loved and greatly enjoyed watching grow and mature. Wes was the nephew of Jerry Liggett of Carlyle, IN; brother to Andy Needling of Chicago, IL, Karen Boyd of Jonesboro, IL; and an elder cousin to Timothy Van Mieghem, Tyler Van Mieghem, Jill Crist, Caryn O'Sullivan, Jenny Stultz, Ann Marier Colehour, Kathleen Werwath, and Matt Needling. Wes lived most of his adult life living in Palatine, IL, with his best friend and wife, Mary, raising their children. For 30 years he dedicated his career to serving and protecting the citizens of Hoffman Estates, IL as Sergeant for the Hoffman Estates Police Department from which he retired in 2013. Wes loved having a peaceful life, reading the morning newspaper along with his coffee and completing the daily crossword puzzle. Wes was in his element, when he was surrounded by his friends and family, where he would joke, laugh, and tell stories of his early life in Southern Illinois. Wes held court with his family, especially as the eldest of his generation and he set an example for his younger brother and cousins. Wes will be remembered as an independent spirit who did life his own way and treated others the way he wanted to be treated. He was a loving husband, father, pops, brother and cousin who demonstrated strength and confidence. Wes was respected and admired by those who knew him. A visitation will take place from 3:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, October 6th, at Smith- Corcoran Funeral Home, 185 E. Northwest Hwy., Palatine.
